Abstract:

A liquid embolic composition of natural polymers, water, and angiographic contrast agents improves neurovascular interventions, making them more reliable, safe, and affordable. The embolic material is made of a single component activated by blood calcium ion, which triggers coagulation, and that offers superior mechanical stability and does not cause fragmentation in the target vessel. The material retains superior long-term mechanical durability after deployment and provides sufficient visualization under fluoroscopy with iodine-based angiographic contrast compounds or other radiopaque compositions. Described herein are aqueous solutions that enable a high concentration gellan gum (greater than 0.5 wt %) to retain sol state even at the range of body temperature (30-40 C.). This discovery means that it is possible to increase the concentration of gellan gum without losing its inject-ability, yet significantly improve its mechanical stability after delivery.

Abstract:

A fall arrest lanyard includes a strap body having a fastening end, a securing end, and a relief portion, and restraint relief arrangement being actuated between a normal operated condition and a relief condition. The restraint relief arrangement includes first and second connectors spacedly affixed at the strap body to define the relief portion thereof between the first and second connectors. At the normal operated condition, the second connector is detachably connected to the first connector to shorten a length of the relief portion of the strap body. At the relief condition, the second connector is detached from the first connector, so that the relief portion is able to be fully extended to create a relief length for allowing the user to escape restraint when the user is restrained by the strap body.

Abstract:

A buckle assembly includes a first buckle member having an insertion member, a second buckle member, a first buckle latch, a second buckle latch, a plurality of resilient elements, and a locking arrangement. The locking arrangement includes at least two locking protrusions and at least one guiding member. The locking protrusions are extended from one of the insertion member and the second buckle body, and are arranged to form a locking channel between the two locking protrusions. The guiding member is extended from the remaining one of the insertion member and the second buckle body, and is arranged to be inserted in the locking channel formed by the locking protrusions so as to retain the first buckle member to be locked with the second buckle member when the first buckle latch and the second buckle latch are in the locked position.
