Abstract:

A retainer assembly for attaching a lock cylinder to a door panel, the lock cylinder having a length and a plurality of radially spaced flanges disposed on and raised outwardly therefrom. The retainer assembly comprises a retainer clip having at least two laterally spaced apart flanges, the at least two laterally spaced apart flanges preventing rotational movement of the lock cylinder when the lock cylinder is engaged with the retainer clip. A base is provided having a first side, a second side, and an open-ended slot. The base is connected to the retainer clip at the second side. The open-ended slot is provided for slidingly engaging the lock cylinder such that upon engagement of the lock cylinder, the base flatly abuts against the door panel on the first side and the retainer clip abuts against the plurality of radially spaced flanges of the lock cylinder. The base has a height equaling at least half of the length of the lock cylinder and a width equaling at least the length of the lock cylinder to prevent disengagement of an anti-theft device that is engaged with the lock cylinder.

Abstract:

An apparatus for filling a washer fluid reservoir of a rear wiper system includes a fill cup assembly having main body and a cover. The main body defines an opening for receiving washer fluid. A first conduit provides fluid communication between the opening and the washer fluid reservoir for the transfer of washer fluid. A second conduit allows for venting of the washer fluid reservoir back to the opening and provides complete exterior venting of fumes. A vent passage defined in part by the second conduit is blocked when the cover is rotated to a closed position. A designed-in interference normally retains the cover in its opened position.

Abstract:

A one-piece plastic retainer device is provided for snap-in blind attachment in a keyhole-shaped apertured panel. The retainer device comprises a flat rectangular base having a push-in fastener shank adjacent one transverse edge. The shank extends from the base inner face while a fastener head and subjacent spacer collar extend from the base outer face in coaxial alignment with the shank. An integral wedge-shaped locking cam projects from the base outer face and is aligned on the base major axis of symmetry adjacent the base other transverse edge. The locking cam has a raised outboard facet and an inboard ramp sloped toward the fastener head with the facet spaced a predetermined longitudinal distance from a transverse outboard collar stop shoulder. The panel keyhole-shaped aperture is configured and dimensioned enabling the head to be initially inserted in the circular opening thereof. Upon the retainer being moved longitudinally into the slot the retainer is captured in a snap-in manner by virtue of the collar stop shoulder and the cam facet being positioned juxtaposed associated longitudinally opposed ends of the keyhole-shaped aperture.

This disclosure relates to a stacked reinforcement assembly for a grille of a motor vehicle. An example vehicle includes a fascia, an active grille shutter assembly including a housing, and a reinforcement assembly connected to the fascia and the housing. The reinforcement assembly includes a first bar at least partially nested within a second bar. An assembly and method are also disclosed.
