Abstract:

A subframe for retrofitting an existing roof with a new roof is disclosed. In some embodiments, the subframe comprises a base, a first and second longitudinal flanges, a first wall extending between the base and the first longitudinal flange, a second wall spaced apart from the first wall and extending between the base and the second longitudinal flange, and a traversely-oriented punch out passing through the base, the first wall and the second wall. The punch out is configured to receive a rib of the existing roof. Once installed on the existing roof and coupled to the new roof, the subframe and new roof form an enclosed, self-supporting structure with increased structural capacity and stability in comparison to conventional retrofitted roof systems.

Abstract:

A roofing system for retrofitting an installed roof with a new roof and a coupling member, or clip, therefor. In some embodiments, the clip includes a housing adapted for slideable engagement with a subframe coupled to an installed roof panel and a rail adapted to couple with a new roof panel. The housing has a slot extending therethrough. The rail extends through the slot and is slideable relative to the housing within the slot.

Abstract:

A gutter system characterized by a continuous snap lock hinge connection between a gutter and hanger therefor which allows the gutter and hanger to be relatively angularly adjusted in the field for use with different roof configurations, and which then is secured against hinged movement by bonding to provide a continuous rigid support for the gutter as well as a continuous water seal between the gutter and hanger. The hanger includes an anchoring flange having a reversely under-turned edge portion forming a hook; whereas each of the gutter side walls has an inwardly-turned top edge terminating at an enlarged bead adapted to be transversely snapped into the bight of the hook for hinged movement therein. The interengaged hook and bead allow the gutter and hanger to be relatively angularly adjusted as desired until an adhesive interposed between mating surfaces thereof sets or cures to form a rigid bond that holds the gutter and hanger in the desired adjusted angular relation.

Abstract:

A subframe configuration for a retrofit roof includes a subframe connected to the upper surface of a rib on an existing roof. The subframe is also connected to the valley/purlin of the existing roof. The connection can be a mechanical interference connection or one that is formed by a mechanical connector. The subframe of the disclosure includes a rib flange that extends from the bottom of the lip. The rib flange is disposed substantially parallel to the base of the subframe. When installed, a connector extends through the rib flange into a rib of the existing roof. Rib flange can be continuous or provided only at each or just some of the ribs.

Abstract:

A roofing system is installed over the top of existing corrugated metal roofs or over the top of low profile ribbed metal roofs as a retrofit roofing system. The system uses a clip specifically designed for corrugated and other forms of low-profile ribbed metal roof panels. The clip spans a single raised corrugation or single raised rib to provide a secure support for a roofing system to be disposed above the existing roof. The clips may be disposed at a plurality of locations along a purlin and are secured to the purlin through the existing roof panels with connectors. The connectors pass through spaced curved feet of the clip which fit into the spaced depressions of the corrugated roofing panel or the spaces adjacent to the low profile rib.
