Abstract:
A multi-layered shingle adapted to be positioned with other similar shingles in an overlapping arrangement on a roof to yield a simulated wooden shake roof covering comprising a headlap portion and a butt portion. The butt portion comprises a series of multi-layered tabs. All the tabs have the same number of layers and each multi-layered tab (a) is separated from the next adjacent multi-layered tab or tabs by a space or spaces, respectively, and (b) comprises an uppermost layer and at least two layers underlying the uppermost layer. Each underlying layer is laminated to the layer above it to form a multi-layered laminated composite. The laminated composite is integral with the headlap portion and the top surface of the uppermost layer of each tab is coplanar with the top surface of the headlap portion. The invention also includes an apparatus and a process for the continuous manufacture of the shingles of the invention.
An apparatus is provided for the continuous manufacture of shingles, for producing a plurality of laminated shingles. The apparatus includes a means for continuously advancing a fibrous sheet, a means for waterproofing the sheet, a means for adhering granules to an upper surface of the sheet, and a means for cutting and separating from the sheet at least three indefinitely long strips to form a wide elongate strip and two or more narrower elongate strips, a means for positioning and adhering one of the narrower strips beneath and upon the wide sheet with longitudinally aligned center lines and a means for positioning and adhering a second of the narrower strips beneath and upon the first narrower strip, with aligned center lines, with the second narrower strip below the first narrower strip, optional means for positioning and adhering other narrower strips underneath and upon the last previously adhered narrower strip with aligned center lines, to make a multi-layered composite section of adhered narrower strips and the wide strip. Means are also provided for making an elongate cut across and generally along the center line to form a repeated pattern of interdigitated multi-layered tabs and a means for cutting elongate composites into preset lengths to form a plurality of shingles.

Abstract:
Breast milk collection, storage, and feeding apparatus comprising a first storage bottle and first and second differently sized feeding bottles, each of the three bottles having a mouth portion of the same diameter and a common external thread structure, and first and second dual port caps each sized and threaded to attach to each of the three bottles, each dual port cap further having a drip port and a draw port, a pressure relief vent formed therein; and a tethered closure plug unit attached thereto, each tethered closure plug unit having first and second tethered plugs shaped and dimensioned to plug or close a respective one of the drip and draw ports. The apparatus may be used in various manners to transfer milk from the storage bottle to a feeding bottle and to thereafter feed an infant by nipple, syringe, or a gravity/bolus technique.
A method is provided of continuously producing a plurality of laminated shingles, including the steps of advancing a fiber sheet, waterproofing the sheet, applying granules thereto, cutting and separating the sheet into a plurality of strips which are positioned and adhered to each other to be multi-layered, and then cutting the strips while controlling the placement of longitudinal centerlines of the strips, and cutting the multi-layers so as to form a plurality of shingles.
