Abstract:
A method and apparatus for rounding a sharp edge of a model of an object is disclosed whereby a ball is propagated in a desired direction along the edge to be smoothed. The position of the ball at each point in its propagation is noted and, as a result, a virtual tunnel through which the ball passed may be constructed. Points on the sides of the surface of the object in proximity to the sharp edge are then projected onto the virtual tunnel by connecting with a line each point in proximity to the sharp edge to the center of the tunnel. New projected points are created at each position on the surface of the tunnel where the lines intersect that surface. The original points along the sharp edge are then hidden or deleted and the points along the virtual tunnel are connected via well-known surface reconstruction methods. In this way, a sharp edge of a triangle mesh model are advantageously smoothed.
Circuits And Methods For Transceiver Self-Interference Cancellers
Self-interference cancellers are provided. The self-interference cancellers can include multiple second-order, N-path G-C filters. Each filter can be configured to cancel self-interference on a channel of a desired bandwidth. Each filter can be independently controlled using a variable transmitter resistance, a variable receiver resistance, a variable baseband capacitance, a variable transconductance, and a variable time shift between local oscillators that control switches in the filter. By controlling these variables, magnitude, phase, slope of magnitude, and slope of phase of the cancellers frequency responses can be controlled for self-interference cancellation. A calibration process is also provided for configuring the canceller.

Abstract:
A method for removing noise from a noisy image includes a few important steps. The noise level of the noisy image is first estimated based on the smooth blocks of the image. The original image is divided into many small blocks. Each of these blocks is then converted from a two dimensional matrix to vector, which is a one dimensional array. The converted vectors are next grouped and then a matrix recovery process based on a principal component analysis (PCA) has been performed in order to remove the noise, wherein the key is to determine the number of principal components to retain during the denoising process. Next, the denoised vectors are converted back to the denoised blocks, and the denoised blocks are used to reconstruct a denoised image with a better image quality.
