Abstract:

A radiation hardened master latch for use in a programmable phase frequency divider operating at GHz frequencies is implemented in deep submicron CMOS technology, and consists of two identical half circuits interconnected in a DICE-type configuration that makes the master latch immune to a single event upset (SEU) affecting at most one of its four data inputs. Each half circuit includes a clock input circuit with four sub-clock nodes each coupled by an inverter to a common clock input. The clock input circuit is configured to be redundant, such that the operation of the master latch half circuit is also immune to an SEU affecting at most one the inverters associated with the plurality of sub-clock nodes. The radiation hardened master latch resides in a design structure embodied in a machine readable medium storing information for designing, manufacturing and/or testing the master latch.

Abstract:

A system and method are provided for determining a color palette model from an image of a document. Pixel values of the image of the document are clustered to provide image clusters. Color layers of the image are determined, each color layer corresponding to an image cluster. Aspects of the color palette model can be determined using the color layers. Aspects of the color palette model include a foreground-background color pair for a content block in the document and a background-area color of the document.

Abstract:

A probe management system is disclosed having a central location for developing experiments and measurement requests for the particular probe system. Instead of issues detailed measurement requests to each of the smart probes in the system, each smart probe determines the measurements to be taken based on the experiment and measurement request. Furthermore, prior to participating in such an experiment the smart probe determines its capabilities to participate and configures itself for such participation if the smart decides to actually participate in the experiment or measurement request.

Abstract:

A navigation system and method factors into its routing decisions information pertaining to transient delays encountered from time to time, one example of such a transient delay is accident information obtained from currently available broadcast traffic flow sources. The system can also factor in historically available traffic delay data based on time of day or other parameters. The navigation system keeps track of the routes traveled by the vehicle (or user) and the times of transit of such routes. When a user requests a route based upon given end-points, the navigation system can use its own stored historical data, as well as currently available traffic delay data, to calculate and announce a given route.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, a system and method is arranged so that less expensive probes are designed for simple installation. Since both probe cost and installation cost are reduced more probes can be deployed thereby improving wireless measurements across a system. In one embodiment, a self-contained probe is designed using internally generated power and vehicle speed information thereby eliminating the need for connecting into a vehicle's power. The low-cost design of each probe allows the electronics to be externally mounted in a quick and easy manner. The resulting large number of deployed probes then allows for different measurements being sent from different probes thereby further reducing the cost per probe.
