Abstract:
A wafer-disposition method and apparatus are disclosed where the disposition is based on a model of systematic misalignment errors. The method comprises the steps of: modeling the misalignment errors between the mask and wafer as a mathematical model using measured misalignment data, generating a confidence limit of the probability of defect for the wafer, and determining whether the wafer satisfies a predetermined product quality level by comparing the confidence limit to the tolerance specification for the wafer. The misalignment model includes systematic errors and is represented by a polynomial based on the location of test points on the wafer. Preferably, several polynomials are formed and one that best predicts new misalignment data is selected. The confidence limit is created by combining the estimated probabilities of defect for all sliders in the wafer. Also, the product quality determination is based on a variable acceptance sampling procedure using the mathematical model.

Abstract:
Multiple controllers connected in parallel to control external circuits such as dc-dc converters so that the external circuits supply power equally to a load such as a microprocessor. All of the controllers are connected and each controller includes an oscillator and a pulse width modulation circuit to synchronize the frequency of all of the oscillators such that the duty cycle of all the oscillators are equal. Each controller includes an over-current protection circuit and an over-voltage protection circuit which will cause the controller with a fault to discontinue supplying power to the load. Each controller further includes a circuit to adjust the duty cycle of the non-faulty controllers when a controller with a fault is caused to discontinue supplying power to the load.

Abstract:
An electronic device may be provided with a microphone in a microphone port. A shield may cover a microelectromechanical systems microphone device on a microphone substrate. An opening in the microphone substrate may form a sound port for the microphone. The microphone port may be formed by perforations in the microphone substrate or other layers such as a flexible printed circuit layer, a sheet metal layer, a layer of adhesive, a flexible polymer carrier layer in an adhesive tape, or an electronic device housing. The perforations may be sufficiently small to help resist the intrusions of foreign material such as liquid and dirt into the sound port of the microphone. Larger openings may be formed in other structures such as an electronic device housing. The larger openings may serve as sound passageways for the microphone port while being sufficiently large to resist clogging.

Abstract:
A regulator controller including terminals for coupling to a voltage source, an inductor and an output capacitor, and including a switching circuit and a switch control circuit. The switching circuit includes switches that toggle coupling of the inductor during switching cycles based on charge and discharge periods. The switch control sets a duration of the charging period based on the input voltage and sets duration of the discharging period based on a difference between the input and output voltages. Multiple output terminals allow coupling to different load types, in which the output terminals may be temporarily coupled together to handle bursted loads. Thus, an output store capacitor may be coupled to handle a bursted load, and then decoupled for charging. Comparator circuits enable/inhibit switching based on input and output conditions. The regulator controller maximizes utilization of weak power sources while sufficiently handling typical load profiles.

"The U.S. election will have a major bearing on this because, depending on various fiscal policies, it really complicates the cutting cycle," said Trang Nguyen, global head of EM credit strategy at BNP Paribas. "We could see more idiosyncratic actions among central banks on the back of that."
