Abstract:
A method and apparatus for preventing or inhibiting effective reproduction of documents such as currency, checks, stock certificates, and any other printed document including a pre-defined security mark printed therein. The subject method and apparatus operate to effect a multi-step review of all digital image data acquired from a printed document to be reproduced for purposes of locating any potential security marks and further examining same for purposes of positively identifying a potential security mark as an actual security mark. If a mark is located and verified to be an authentic security mark, effective reproduction of the printed document will not be permitted and/or other security measures will be taken. A pretest of a mark consists of deleting the fine line patterns that may be printed on top of the mark by smoothing the data in an averaging process, and then determining the difference between the density of the darkest and lightest pixels in the area. A difference smaller than a predetermined value means that the mark is not valid.
A rifle scope has a front end receiving light and a rear end passing light to the user eye. The rifle scope has an elevation adjustment; an inside body is hollow and tubular and fitting inside a middle body which is also hollow and tubular shaped and a top angle focus adjustment mounted on the inside body in front of the elevation windage. The top angle focus adjustment has a top angle focus knob, a focus shaft mounted to the focus knob, and a top angle gear mounted to the focus shaft. The top angle focus knob and the focus shaft and the top angle gear are fixed so that they rotate together on an axis of the focus shaft. The inside body focus gear housing has an inside body focus gear meshing with the top angle gear, and the top angle gear rotation rotates the inside body focus gear.
A reticle comprises a horizontal section having horizontal section horizontal lines broken by horizontal section gaps between the horizontal section horizontal lines. A vertical section has vertical section vertical lines broken by vertical section gaps between the vertical section vertical lines. The horizontal section intersects the vertical section at a midpoint. A wide measurement ranging system includes range indicators including a highest range indicator, a plurality of intermediate range indicators, and a lowest range indicator. A height measurement ranging system has range indicators which include height measurement horizontal lines and which include a height measurement lowest range indicator closest to the vertical section, height measurement intermediate range indicators, and a height measurement highest range indicator.
Hidden Push Button Arrangement For Piezoelectric Lighter
A piezoelectric lighter includes a lighter casing, an ignition nozzle, a gas releasing valve, a piezoelectric unit, and a hidden push button arrangement. The hidden push button arrangement includes a push button which has a pusher end portion, a pivot end portion pivotally mounted at the lighter casing at the button receiving slot thereof, and a button surface extended from the pusher end portion and the pivot end portion, adapted to pivotally fold between an operation position and a hidden position. At the hidden position, the pusher end portion of the push button is folded into the button receiving slot to align the button surface of the push button with the outer surface of the lighter casing so as to completely hide the push button in the button receiving slot within the lighter casing.

Abstract:
A system and method are provided by which a user, at a client workstation, can efficiently, simply and effectively manipulate, and specifically crop, a high resolution image that has been scanned and/or otherwise stored in a server with which the client worksation is in web-based communication. The disclosed system and method reduce and/or eliminate the need to transfer a file containing a full high resolution image from the server to the client workstation across a web-based data transfer network. A cropping request may be generated by a user via a client workstation and only that request may be transferred to, and implemented through, the server, eliminating significant data transfer requirements regarding the transfer of the extremely large files associated with high resolution images required of conventional cropping methods. An addition advantage is reduction and/or elimination of a need for sophisticated image display and processing software to reside within each client workstation.

Abstract:
In a high-density VLSI NMOS semiconductor such as a ROM, a voltage sensing mode amplifier in the output thereof, operative to sense relatively very low input signal swing bit read signals from the ROM with relative insensitivity to fabrication process variation. The structure includes a common gate amplifier for receiving the ROM signal, a very sensitive reference voltage circuit, a two-stage differential digital switching module operative to compatively receive the common gate and voltage reference signals to effectively distinguish relatively weak bit signals as read from the high-density VLSI ROM.

Abstract:
This algorithm is a method for resizing and resampling an image in one step. In the vertical, process or slow scan, direction, from the resampling ratio and from the image size variation, an algorithm can compute where, on the page, the scan lines may be deleted. For a numerical example, if the input is 400 pixels per unit time, resampling of four to one would yield one scan line every 1/100 of a unit. If, in addition, the image has to be reduced by 5%, then the final output would be one scan line every 1/95. sup. th of a time unit. This algorithm accomplishes this result by using a running sum of error terms. Simply stated, if it is known that the previous output scan was output at exactly the right time, the error is zero, but if the scan was output too soon or too late, there will be an error term. For each new scan that is now output, 1/400. sup. th of a time unit is added to the error term.
