A pneumatic fire detector is disclosed having a switch module comprising a manifold operatively connected to a sensor tube, the switch module incorporating respective forming tubes for applying a sufficient pressure first to the outer surface of an installed diaphragm and thereafter to a pre-determined pressure through the manifold to deform the diaphragm outwards and into contact with a respective switch.

Abstract:

An adaptor to be adhered to one surface of a flat conductor flat cable to permit the individual flat conductors to be aligned with the contacts in a round conductor flat cable. The adaptor has an undulating upper surface which permits alignment between the round conductor alignment ridges and the flat conductor cable. Made of a permeable, elastic memory material, after the contacts break it, it recovers to provide support for the cable, prevent lateral shifts of the contacts and fill the void created by introducing a flat conductor cable between the base and cover of the connector.

Abstract:

A connector for joining the conductors of a multiconductor cable to a like plurality of conductors formed of an insulating base member having an equal plurality of conductive channels therein, each channel insulated from each of the remaining channels. The conductors of the cable are distributed, one for each channel, into the channels and a like number of selectively formed conductors are simultaneously distributed among the channels with their ends separated from the ends of the cable conductors. An insulating cover, of sufficient dimensions to overlie and contact each conductor, is attached to the base member to compress all conductors therebetween. A complete conductive path is established for each cable conductor and its associated conductor by means of the conductive channel.

Abstract:

A cable clamp is disclosed for securing a cable passing through a hole in a wall or the like. A fluid resistant seal between the clamp and the cable passing through the clamp is formed as the cable is being secured within the clamp. The cable clamp comprises a generally tubularly shaped body portion with two rows of overlapping tapering axial projections at one end, a generally tubularly shaped elastomeric member disposed between the two rows of projections, a nut for securing the clamp to a wall or the like and a nut for securing the cable within the clamp.

Abstract:

The invention is directed to a thin adapter member arranged to be adhered by means of a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contained on one surface of the adapter and prior to use protected by a release layer, which adapter has disposed, along one or two rows, apertures arranged to be aligned with individual flat conductors of the cable, such that when the flat cable and adapter are inserted into a connector, the individual contacts of the connector are permitted to enter the apertures of the adapter and insure proper contact between each contact and its associated flat conductor when the connector is assembled.
