Abstract:

Negative surface relief diffractive optical elements () are supported or formed at interior surfaces of injection molding molds () for wireless communication device housing parts (). Such injection molding molds are used to making housing parts that include integrally molded surface relief diffractive optical elements () e.g., holograms. Such diffractive optical elements can be used to convey information or for decorative effects. The negative surface relief holograms can be mechanically mounted or formed on the interior surfaces by exposing a resist on the interior surfaces to a holographic light field or a succession of laser interference patterns, and there after developing and using the resist as an etch mask.

A locking mechanism for a communication device () is provided by an access cover () having a simple user interface with rugged features that prevent the access door from detaching if the device is dropped. The access cover () includes a latch () movable vertically in up and down positions () in combination with a slideable lock () movable horizontally in side to side positions, one of the side positions preventing up and down movement of the latch. Abstract:

An antenna to increase VHF bandwidth comprises an inner and an outer helical element separated by a comb-like spacer. The inner helical element has a dual pitch and is fed a radio frequency driving signal while the outer helical element has a uniform pitch and is coupled to ground. The dual pitch inner helical element coupled with the uniform pitch outer helical element provides an increase in bandwidth without a corresponding increase in the length of antenna, and, in fact, allows for a shorter antenna for communication devices than is currently available, without loss of signal strength or quality.

In one aspect, a method of tightening skin and/or reducing scar tissue is described herein. The method comprises performing a fractional laser ablation in a treatment area of the skin, thereby removing a column of the skin and forming a columnar vacancy in the skin, the columnar vacancy having a perimeter defined by a first side and a second side opposite the first side, the first side and the second side each comprising an epidermal layer, a dermal layer, and a subcutaneous layer of skin. Abstract:

In one aspect, devices for light treatment of skin are described herein. A device described herein, in some embodiments, comprises an interior compartment having a proximal end and a distal end, and an optical aperture disposed at the distal end. The device also comprises a laser or BBL source that produces a laser or BBL beam. The laser or BBL beam has a first optical path within the interior compartment, between the proximal end and the distal end. Additionally, the first optical path exits the interior compartment through the optical aperture. The device further comprises an imaging system that receives a return signal from the aperture. The return signal received from the aperture has a second path within the interior compartment. Further, a selectively reflective optical element is disposed in the first and second optical paths. The selectively reflective optical element generally transmits the laser or BBL beam.
