Abstract:

A system and method are disclosed for analyzing and converting legacy software systems. The system and method of the invention involves a multi-task process including preparing an overview characterization of the software application; parsing the source code of said software application; generating business process models; identifying business rules from said business process models; generating a plurality of UML models; identifying a set of modernization requirements; performing a gap analysis; and converting said legacy software application into a target application meeting said set of modernization requirements.

Abstract:

An illumination device that is retrofittable to a wall, and configured to emit light in a downward direction relative to the wall, upon detection of motion, if a degree of ambient light is below a predetermined threshold. The illumination device is reconfigurable to adapt or conform to a variety of surface contours so that the illumination device may be flush-mounted to the wall. The illumination device includes a theft-deterrent design to prevent or deter removal of the illumination device from a wall mount.

Abstract:

Business rules may be harvested from software using automated processes and used in developing new computer software. Automated harvesting may speed up development, reduce cost, and decrease human error during software development. Harvesting the business rules from computer software may also allow business analysts to verify and update business rules. The business rules may be harvested by parsing existing source code into abstract syntax trees (ASTs). The source ASTs may then be transformed into target ASTs corresponding to a programming language different from the existing source code. Those target ASTs may then be recomposed into output source code of the different programming language.
