Abstract:

a media file is electronically communicated by programmatically generating a link for an electronic communication, where the link identifies a media file that is stored on a given terminal of a user. Selection of the link at a remote terminal is detected, indicating that a recipient of the electronic communication has selected to view the media file. In response to the link in the message being selected from the remote terminal, streaming data from the media file to the recipient. An embodiment such as described may be performed from a user terminal or system, correspond to, for example, where the media file was recorded, created and/or stored.

Abstract:

A computer-implemented method is provided for executing an action on an electronic device. The method includes outputting, at a touch screen of the mobile device, a lock screen view configured to prevent unauthorized or inadvertent access to the electronic device. The access is conditioned to a predefined shape of a user touch input. The method further includes, while the lock screen view is displayed at the touch screen, detecting, at the touch screen, a touch input having a first shape, verifying if the first shape has the predefined shape, in response to detecting that the touch input has the predefined shape, executing, by the electronic device, a particular action determined, at least in part on the predefined shape, if detecting a further touch input at least prior or subsequent the predefined shape.

Abstract:

Optimized distributed disambiguation of gestures is disclosed. In one innovative aspect, there is a gesture controlled device. The gesture controlled device includes a sensor configured to detect an input gesture. The gesture controlled device also includes a gesture detector configured to obtain the input gesture. The gesture controlled device further includes a transmitter configured to transmit a candidate gesture request including a first portion of the input gesture, the transmission based at least in part on a resource characteristic of the gesture controlled device. The gesture controlled device also includes a receiver configured to receive a set of candidate gestures for the candidate gesture request. The gesture detector is configured to identify the input gesture based on a second portion of the input gesture and the received set of candidate gestures.
