Abstract:

A suspension or rig for simultaneously setting a plurality of roof trusses on a building framing. A plurality of spaced vertical cables are suspended from a pair of horizontally extending pipes and connected to a central portion of each top sloping side of each truss, making two suspensions for each truss. A pair of horizontally extending spaced parallel pipes have ends connected to the pair of pipes. Suspending apparatus lifted by a crane comprises four linkage elements connected to end portions of the last mentioned pair of horizontally extending spaced parallel pipes. The improvement comprises securely fastening each truss at a predetermined distance from its apex to assure a perfectly horizontal and co-planer base for all the trusses, also the addition of eyes near the base portion of the trusses, through which eyes a cable or rope is passed together with flexible cable or rope portions for holding the trusses securely together equi-distantly and in spaced parallel relationship.

Abstract:

A diagnostic system for an electrical generator winding which has first and second passages for conduction of cooling gas. The temperature of the gas exiting the passages is determined and converted to a normalized value which may be either high, low or normal. A diagnostic computer determines the existence of predetermined combinations of high, low or normal for the two readings and these predetermined combinations are utilized by the computer which generates respective confidence factors in the existence of certain abnormal generator conditions such as open conductors, broken or blocked cooling gas passages, and sensor malfunctions, by way of example.

A form for concrete which has inner and outer walls spaced apart. Each wall is formed by a plurality of vertical elements abutting each other vertically. Abstract:

Insulated multiphase electrical windings are tested by applying to both ends of one phase, a positive DC voltage for a fixed period of time and simultaneously to another phase an equal negative DC voltage is applied for the same fixed period of time and all remaining phases are grounded. The application of the positive and negative DC voltages is repeated until each phase of the multiphase windings has been tested with both a positive and negative voltage.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for making metal flakes from a body or stream of molten metal. The apparatus includes a wheel with serrations on its periphery, and means for rotating the wheel in a vertical plane. Means are provided for controlling the relative positions of the wheel and the upper surface of the body of molten metal which is subjected to change. In this manner, the serrations on the bottom of the wheel are disposed a preselected distance into the body of molten metal. When the serrations rotate out of the body, molten metal collects on the serrations and freezes into solid flakes. Means are provided for removing the flakes from the serrations and for collecting the flakes at one location on the periphery of the wheel.
