The fast-paced series centers on Jarek Wysocki (Jason Clarke), a local legend and a larger-than-life veteran of the Chicago Police Department. Jarek works the streets on a crusade to clean up crime and avenge his brothers murder. Teresa Colvin (Jennifer Beals), his ex-partner, is the first female police superintendent, wielding considerable power. Colvin is on a mission to fight corruption in the department, which involves considerable danger.
I didn't quite buy the premise set up in Monday's debut: That Wysocki's ex-partner, Beals' Teresa Colvin, now the city's police superintendent, enlists the honest but hot-headed guy as a key player in an anti-corruption task force, one of whose aims is to get crooked politicians, such as Delroy Lindo's powerful alderman Ronin Gibbons.

The Chicago Code premieres tonight on FOX - Cast Interviews (Video, Photos)
Americans have such a love affair with Australians, Australian accents, pretty much anything from down under so it's a shame that the lead actorJason Clarke as (Jarek Wysocki) on The Chicago Codehas to spend 2-3 hours every day turning his Aussie words into the midwestern Chicago cop talk. The ladies in the audience would just as soon listen to him talk in his interview that is included in the video gallery. Co-star Jennifer Beals talks about the character of Jarek Wysocki and Teresa Colvins relationship to him "They are friends, she has a great deal of respect for him, he is her eyes on the street."Cast of "The Chicago Code" on FOX:Jason Clarkeas Jarek Wysocki,Devin Kelley as his sister Vonda Wysocki,Jennifer Bealsas Teresa Colvin,Matt Lauriaas Caleb Evers,Todd Williamsas Isaac Joiner,Billy Lushas Liam Hennessey,Delroy Lindoas Alderman Ronin Gibbons,Patrick Gough as Will Gainey
Although this is a show about police officers, it is not your typical cop show. Underneath the usual murder and crime investigations is a movement to abolish the corruption, mostly political, that is widespread in Chicago, at least in The Chicago Code. Jennifer Beals plays Teresa Colvin, the first female Superintendant on Chicagos police department. When she is not able to obtain funding for a formal task force to address the corruption, she finds other options. That includes a veteran de
Then, there's Teresa Colvin. She's a bit more of the archetype you'd expect upon hearing that Jennifer Beals is portraying the Superintendent of Police. She's young and attractive and aware of how these traits make her look in the eyes of others. Hence, the obligatory scene of Colvin demoting a veteran and telling him Chicago is now "my city."
Follow along with Jarek Wysocki (Jason Clarke), a savvy veteran of the CPD that has gained cult status in the windy city thanks to his relationship with Teresa Colvin (Jennifer Beals). Colvin is not only Wysocki's ex-partner but also the city's first female superintendent and in charge of a 10,000 member police force. Who says women can't be in full charge?

'Chicago Code': This Time The Good Cops Get A Shot
In this show, the big corrupt figure is Alderman Ronin Gibbons, played by a smooth-looking Delroy Lindo (Get Shorty). He's got the makings of a classic TV villain, and he plays each scene with an almost snake-like smugness like a black Chicago version of J.R. Ewing. Gibbons is the Chicago power broker with his hand in everything legal or illegal. He recently appointed the city's first female police superintendent, Teresa Colvin (Jennifer Beals), and he expects her to be subservient, naive and easily controlled.
