The mouse computer input device () only outputs left button switch (109) signals to the application program (). The mouse body () and buttons form substantially hemispherical shape. The mouse buttons are activated with an inward force to the side surfaces of the buttons or a downward force to the top of the buttons. The system includes a special mouse driver () which recognizes the right button switch () signal but outputs a left button user interface signal to the application program (). Thus, when the left and right mouse buttons are squeezed together, the driver outputs only a left button signal. The driver is controlled by an icon on the computer's desktop screen () and can be switched between one button and two button operation.
A computer keyboard that includes features which assist a child in learning how to type. The keys have different colors based upon the function of the keys. The number keys are physically separated from the letter keys by a gap to prevent accidental contact with the number keys while typing words. The keyboard includes a mechanism which disables the normal repeat function. This mechanism prevents the repeated typing of a letter or number regardless of how long the key is pressed.
