An infusion set for administration of fluid to a subcutaneous layer includes a cannula housing adapted for mounting onto a patients skin and a needle housing for connection to the cannula housing. The needle housing has a pair of flexible sidewalls and a resilient band connected to the sidewalls. The resilient band is lockably engageable with the cannula housing to thereby secure the housings together, and is releasable from the cannula housing when the sidewalls are pressed toward each other to deform the resilient band. A hollow needle extends out of a main body of the needle housing for delivering fluid to the cannula from a fluid source. The walls of the needle housing extend beyond a distal end of the hollow needle to prevent needle contact with contaminated surfaces and inadvertent injury.

A method for directly forming and finishing a web product is provided. The method includes forming a web on a forming apparatus, continuously transferring the formed web to a conveyor, performing a converting step on the web as the web is continuously supported and advanced on the conveyor, and finishing the web into a product substantially ready for packaging. A system for performing the method is also provided.

Abstract:
A web cut-off assembly for a rewinder apparatus includes a bedroll having a pair of retractable bedroll blades that move to a protracted position to engage the web material for a web cutting event. A chopper roll is disposed proximate to the bedroll and includes a first blade and a second blade extending from a circumference thereof. The first and second blades rotationally intermeshing with the bedroll blades in the web cutting event. The second blade is configured to effectively stretch and hold the web relative to the bedroll blades as the first blade severs the web in the web cutting process.

Abstract:
A system for cutting cores used to wind up web materials or as a base structure for containers and other devices is provided. The system uses a core guidance tube in one aspect to position a continuously forming core while a laser beam is directed at the core to cut the core into desired lengths. A method for using the system is further provided.
Transcutaneous Inserter For Low-Profile Infusion Sets
A low-profile inserter for an angled infusion set comprises an inserter housing having a bottom wall, a retainer slidably connected to the inserter housing for movement between retracted and extended positions in a direction substantially parallel with the bottom wall, and a base member connected to the inserter housing. The retainer is adapted to releasably receive a cannula assembly, including a cannula connected to a cannula housing. The base member has a lower surface that is adapted to contact a skin outer surface. The lower surface and bottom wall together form an acute angle. With this arrangement, the cannula can be inserted subcutaneously at the acute angle with respect to the skin outer surface.

Abstract:
A winder for winding a web to produce a rolled product is provided. The winder includes a web transport apparatus that is used for conveying the web. Also included in one exemplary embodiment is a plurality of independent winding modules. The winding modules are independently positioned to independently engage the web as the web is conveyed by the web transport apparatus. The winding modules may be configured to wind the web to form a rolled product by center winding, surface winding, and combinations of center and surface winding. The winding modules are structurally and operationally independent of one another where if one module is disabled, another may still operate to produce the rolled product without shutting down the winder.
