About Celebration: Celebration, Florida is a planned community created by a real estate division of The Walt Disney Company who commissioned famous architects to create the master plan and to design the buildings. Founded in 1994, Celebration has the flavor of a nostalgic southern American town, and is often cited as an example of neo-traditional town design. Celebration is connected directly to the Walt Disney World parks and resorts by World Drive. Homes are designed in six main architectural styles varying from Victorian, Classical, Colonial Revival, Coastal, Mediterranean and French. Oversized porches and verandas that encourage old-time neighborhood socializing are welcome features. Downtown Celebration's business district is a lively mix of retail shops, restaurants, offices and apartments, town hall, post office, deli/grocery store, and cinemas. Many of these buildings are situated along the scenic lake in the center of town. The community is based on five cornerstones: education, health and technology, place and community. Of course, any town needs a quality school, and Disney has constructed the county-run Celebration School, serving students from kindergarten through 8th grade. The innovative public school sits on a 36-acre campus. Celebration High School was added by the county in 2004. Celebration is surrounded by a protected greenbelt with miles of walking and bikingpaths. The town also features Celebration Health, a 60-acre health campus and includes Florida Hospital Comprehensive Health Care Services. A par 72 public golf course designed by Robert Trent, Jr., circles the town andis enhanced by a beautiful clubhouse and a 3-hole youth practice range.
