Abstract:
A shoe footbed made by first molding a shape-retaining layer into a contoured condition. After the shape-retaining layer has been molded, a layer of thermal insulation is placed on top of the molded layer. A conforming layer and a fabric top layer may be placed over the thermal insulation and the shape-retaining layer. The inventive method of manufacture is particularly suited for making insulated footbeds that contain nonwoven webs of polymeric microfiber because damage to the fibrous web from heat and compression may be avoided.

Abstract:
A barrier fabric laminate for use as a cover for a gel filled article is provided. The barrier fabric laminate comprises a fluid impermeable film and a polyurethane nonwoven web which has a friction value of less than 200 g and a fabric hand of less than 200 g. The polyurethane web is formed from fibers of less than about 50. mu. m diameter on average and is preferably formed with a fluorochemical melt additive by sequentially melt blowing the polyurethane web on a heated collecting drum and laminating in the nip formed by a heated nip roller and the collecting drum.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a medical tape comprising a highly conformable and deformable nonwoven web coated with an adhesive. The non-adhesive side of the web may be heat bonded to many different polymeric film materials and is particularly useful with ostomy pouch films. The present invention also provides ostomy bags comprising an elastic, breathable nonwoven based medical tape.

Abstract:
A breathing system hood assembly that fits over a user's head includes an air impermeable hood having an opening dimensioned to fit over the user's head and an elastically deformable neck seal arranged along at least a portion of the opening. The neck seal includes a region wherein the neck seal is arranged in overlapping relation with itself, whereby the neck seal can expand to fit over a user's head and contract to create a seal with the user's neck.
