Reducing Feedback Overhead For Multiple Component Carriers
Sayantan Choudhury - Vancouver WA, US Zhanping Yin - Vancouver WA, US Shohei Yamada - Camas WA, US
Assignee:
Sharp Laboratories of America, Inc. - Camas WA
International Classification:
H04W 4/00
US Classification:
370329, 370330, 370437, 455450, 4554522
Abstract:
A wireless communication device configured for reducing feedback overhead for multiple component carriers is described. The wireless communication device includes a processor and instructions stored in memory. The wireless communication device receives signals on a plurality of component carriers and determines at least one feedback value based on the signals. The wireless communication device also generates at least one reduced overhead feedback message for the plurality of component carriers based on the at least one feedback value and sends the at least one reduced overhead feedback message.
Systems And Methods For Inter Relay Interference Coordination
A method for inter relay interference coordination (IRIC) by a first relay node in a wireless communications system is described. A second relay node is communicated with over a relay interface. A first set of user equipment (UE) communication settings is received over the relay interface that correspond to the second relay node. A second set of UE communication settings is determined that correspond to the first relay node. The second set of UE communication settings are based on the first set of UE communication settings.
Transmission Of Different Redundancy Versions On Different Degrees Of Freedom
Ahmad Khoshnevis - Portland OR, US Sayantan Choudhury - Vancouver WA, US
Assignee:
Sharp Laboratories of America, Inc. - Camas WA
International Classification:
H03M 13/00 H04L 1/14
US Classification:
714751, 714750
Abstract:
For downlink cooperative multi-point (CoMP) communication, each cooperating transmission point (e. g. , base station) may send a retransmission packet with a different redundancy version to a user equipment (UE). Mechanisms may be provided to determine which transmission point should send packets with which redundancy version. For uplink CoMP, in order to reduce the backhaul overhead, each cooperating base station may share only a fraction of the retransmitted packet with the serving base station. Also, different retransmission packets with different redundancy versions can be transmitted to different cooperating base stations using spatial degrees of freedom.
Resource Allocation And Encoding For Channel Quality Indicator (Cqi) And Cqi Collided With Uplink Acknowledgment/Negative Acknowledgment
Ahmad Khoshnevis - Portland OR, US Shohei Yamada - Camas WA, US Zhanping Yin - Vancouver WA, US Sayantan Choudhury - Vancouver WA, US
Assignee:
Sharp Laboratories of America, Inc. - Camas WA
International Classification:
H04B 1/00 H04B 7/00 H04W 72/00
US Classification:
455 69, 4554521
Abstract:
A User Equipment (UE) configured for allocating resources and encoding for Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) is described. The UE includes a processor and instructions stored in memory. The UE receives Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling, receives a reference signal and determines a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) based on the reference signal. The UE also determines a format for CQI transmission. If use of Format 3 is determined the UE determines cells for CQI reporting based on the RRC signaling and determines an encoding. The UE also encodes a feedback message based on the encoding and transmits the feedback message.
Systems And Methods For Closed Subscriber Group Cell Reselection
Kenneth J. Park - Cathlamet WA, US Sayantan Choudhury - Vancouver WA, US Ahmad Khoshnevis - Portland OR, US
Assignee:
Sharp Laboratories of America, Inc. - Camas WA
International Classification:
H04W 36/00 H04W 36/30
US Classification:
370332, 370331, 455436, 455444
Abstract:
A method for base station reselection in a wireless communications system is disclosed. The method may determine a first indication of signal strength for a first signal sent from a first base station and received by a user equipment (UE). The method may also determine a second indication of signal strength for a second signal sent from a second base station and received by the UE. The method may further determine a relative signal strength based on the first indication of signal strength and the second indication of signal strength. The method may also determine a Q factor based on the relative signal strength. The Q factor may be an indication of when base station reselection should be performed.
Systems And Methods For Providing A Reduced Power Amplifier Transmission Mode
Kimihiko Imamura - Vancouver WA, US Kenneth James Park - Cathlamet WA, US John M. Kowalski - Camas WA, US Sayantan Choudhury - Vancouver WA, US
Assignee:
Sharp Kabushiki Kaisha - Osaka
International Classification:
H04B 1/04
US Classification:
455101, 455103
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) that supports multiple antenna transmission via multiple power amplifiers may operate in a reduced power amplifier (PA) mode. When operating in the reduced PA mode, a subset of the UE's power amplifiers are used to transmit uplink signals. A UE may send a preference signal to an e-Node B to request that the UE operate in the reduced PA mode.
Assigning And Coordinating Uplink Reference Signals For Cooperative Communication
A method for assigning and coordinating uplink reference signals for cooperative communication is disclosed. Data about an assigned uplink reference signal sequence used by a wireless communication device is received at a non-serving base station. An uplink reference signal estimate is determined based on the data. The uplink reference signal estimate is used to coherently demodulate a signal received from the wireless communication device or is used to estimate an uplink channel between the non-serving base station and the wireless communication device.
Systems And Methods For Maintaining Constant Closed Subscriber Group Cell Reselection Radius
A method for self-configuration of offset factors between two base stations in a wireless communications system is described. A first offset factor is sent to a first user equipment (UE) by a first base station. An offset factor is an indication of the reselection area around a home evolved nodeB (HeNB). A second offset factor is received from a second UE. The first offset factor is modified using the second offset factor. The modified first offset factor is sent to the first UE.
