State's health ranking - Obesity, diabetes continue to rise
"We really are doing reasonably well for a state where public health funding is as low as it is," said Ruth Petersen. She is chief of chronic disease and injury prevention with the N.C. Division of Public Health in Raleigh. North Carolina ranks 42nd in money spent on public health, she said.
