  • Dishwashing Machine With Convenient Pump/Motor Access

    view source
  • US Patent:
    6484738, Nov 26, 2002
  • Filed:
    Nov 21, 2000
  • Appl. No.:
    09/717190
  • Inventors:
James T. Andrews - Leawood KS
Russell L. Payzant - Olathe KS
  • Assignee:
    TCA, Inc. - Edwardsville KS
  • International Classification:
    B08B 302
  • US Classification:
    134201, 68 3 R, 68184
  • Abstract:
A dishwashing machine constructed to allow quick and easy removal and replacement of the pump/motor used to pump liquid to the spray system. The pump/motor is mounted at a back comer area of the dishwasher cabinet on a track which angles to the center front area of the cabinet. Quick disconnect couplings allow the pump to be disconnected from the piping so that the pump/motor can be slid along the track and removed out the front of the cabinet. Each coupling includes a sealing sleeve located at a pipe joint and a clamp that can be tightened to seal the sleeve against the pipes. The couplings can be loosened by loosening nuts which release the clamps.

  • US Patent:
    59378808, Aug 17, 1999
  • Filed:
    Oct 3, 1997
  • Appl. No.:
    8/943633
  • Inventors:
Russell L. Payzant - Olathe KS
  • Assignee:
TCA, Inc. - Kansas City KS
  • International Classification:
    B08B 302
  • US Classification:
    134175
  • Abstract:
An under counter dish washing machine has an upper spray assembly with a spray base recessed at the top of the wash compartment. An enclosed control housing is provided around the recess to house various controls in order to make use of what is otherwise wasted space. The sump of the machine is covered by a screen having an opening in which a pump filter moves up and down to open and close the drain opening. The filter has a perforated body so that all water draining to the sump must pass through either the screen openings or the perforations of the pump filter. The supply hose which delivers water to the machine is relieved from constant water pressure by a solenoid valve which closes except during a fill cycle of the machine.

  • US Patent:
    60448539, Apr 4, 2000
  • Filed:
    Nov 24, 1998
  • Appl. No.:
    9/198897
  • Inventors:
Russell L. Payzant - Olathe KS
  • Assignee:
TCA, Inc. - Kansas City KS
  • International Classification:
    A47L 1523
  • US Classification:
    1341041
  • Abstract:
A batch type dish washing machine having spray assemblies supported for rotation on special bearings. Each spray assembly has a spray base through which a pedestal extends to provide a rotational axis. A rotary hub has a bearing compartment which houses a bearing having opposing races and balls located in an annular track between the races. The bearing races are captured between a pair of collars secured to the pedestal by a thumb screw. Water is applied to the dishware by spray arms which extend radially from the hub.
  • Dish Washing Machine Having Interchangeable Top And Bottom Spray Arms

  • US Patent:
    57250022, Mar 10, 1998
  • Filed:
    Jul 24, 1996
  • Appl. No.:
    8/685497
  • Inventors:
Russell L. Payzant - Olathe KS
  • Assignee:
TCA, Inc. - Kansas City KS
  • International Classification:
    A47L 1523
  • US Classification:
    134 953
  • Abstract:
A dish washing machine having upper and lower spray assemblies with separate spray arms and separate water supplies for washing and rinsing dishware. A spray base for each spray assembly segregates recycled wash water from clean incoming rinse water. A hollow drum mounted to each manifold has side discharge openings. A ball bearing assembly mounts the wash spray arms for rotation about the drums. A conduit for the rinse water extends through each drum and connects with a spindle on which the rinse spray arms are mounted for rotation. The upper and lower spray arm assemblies are interchangeable. The bearing assembly is uniquely constructed such that it is automatically flushed with clean rinse water during each cycle of operation.

Russell L. Payzant - Olathe KS
  • Assignee:
TCA, Inc. - Kansas City KS
  • International Classification:
    B08B 1300
  • US Classification:
    134 57D
  • Abstract:
A conveyor dishwashing machine in which racks of dishes are conveyed from a loading surface through a hood which presents washing and rinsing zones and onto a discharge surface. In the washing zone, wash spray is applied to the dishes from a spray system which is easily removed for cleaning and easily replaced in the proper position. In the rinsing zone, a rinse curtain applies an initial rinse and creates a barrier against the wash spray. A final rinse of clean city water is applied subsequent to the rinse curtain. Automatic controls operate the machine with a minimum of human intervention.
