Abstract:
A storage apparatus includes a storage unit defining a front opening, and a closure member configured to cover the front opening. The closure member is attached to the storage unit for movement between open, intermediate and closed positions. The storage apparatus further includes a dampening element operably coupled to the closure member and the storage unit. The dampening element provides enhanced resistance to the movement of the closure member during a final phase of the opening and closing movements of the closure member while not providing enhanced resistance during an initial phase of the opening and closing movements.

Abstract:
A table/easel that includes a worksurface having an erasable surface, at least one first leg pivotally coupled to the worksurface, and at least one second leg pivotally coupled to the worksurface. The table/easel further includes a first pivot block and a second pivot block interconnecting the first and second legs in a scissor-like arrangement. The first and second pivot blocks are slidably coupled to the first and second legs. The first and second leg can be slidably adjusted with respect to the first and second pivot blocks, thereby allowing infinite adjustability of the worksurface between a substantially horizontal position and a substantially vertical position.

Abstract:
A seating unit includes a rearwardly-open base frame with a pair of uprights on opposite rear side portions in spaced apart positions. A molded back has corner sections with cavities for matably telescopingly engaging the uprights, and a beam section extending between the corner sections for stabilizing the rear side portions when the molded back is engaging the uprights. A seat fastened to the base frame engages the molded back to retain the molded back on the upright sections. A cushion attached by a line of adhesive is perforated inward of the line, such that a majority of the cushion can be pulled off by tearing along the perforation line, allowing quick separation for recycling. The uprights have reduced an upper diameter for aesthetics but extend upwardly sufficiently to support armrest on the back.

Abstract:
According to the present invention, a control system for a chair is provided. The control system is comprised of first and second resilient blocks, first and second stabilizing members and first and second rockers. The first stabilizing member has first and second ends and defines a first horizontal axis. The first end of the first stabilizing member extends into the first resilient block and the second end of the first stabilizing member extends into the second resilient block. The second stabilizing member is coupled to the first stabilizing member by a connector. The second stabilizing member has first and second ends and defines a second horizontal axis disposed in parallel to the first horizontal axis. The first end of the second stabilizing member is operably coupled to the first rocker, and the second end of the second stabilizing member is operably coupled to the second rocker.
