Abstract:
An electronic energy meter and its package is described in which the meter package has a reduced number of parts, and the main circuit board assembly has the metering electronics on board, thereby eliminating the need for flying leads and point-to-point wiring within the package. The energy meter includes a first enclosure portion, a circuit board assembly for performing metering functions, a partial terminal block, and a second enclosure portion. The first and second enclosure portions are mateable with each other to form a meter package, in which the circuit board assembly and partial terminal block are at least partially contained within the meter package.

Abstract:
Synthetic drumsticks for musical purposes and methods for making them. The present drumsticks are characterized by having a microcellular foamed structure. The preferred method comprises injection molding of thermoplastic materials that are saturated with gasses, particularly in their supercritical phase. The products of the injection molding process are drumsticks formed to final dimensions and ready for use. The foamed materials are preferably made from filled resins. The formation of micron-scale gas cells during the molding process yields formed drumsticks that are similar to woods or better, in feel and durability. The products of the invention further have advantages of durability, recycleability, exact matching of properties (reproducibility of manufacture), improved shock absorption, and âlivelierâ rebound from the drumhead thus preventing forearm fatigue in the user. The present drumsticks also provide a better/sharper âringâ, than wooden drumsticks, when used on cymbals. By adding coloring agents during manufacture the drumsticks can be made in any color and can also be made to glow in the dark.

Abstract:
An actuator switch for use in an electronic energy meter has a reduced number of parts, and can be used to actuate multiple concealed switches. An actuator switch includes an inner actuator portion having ribs separated by at least one gap, and an outer housing with a locking-tab, where the locking-tab corresponds to at least one gap for interlocking.

Abstract:
A coil for use in the voltage section of the electromagnet in electromechanical utility watthour meters comprises a thermoplastic bobbin, a length of wire, and two terminals. The bobbin has an upper flange and a lower flange connected by a central, hollow core. The upper flange supports two terminal mounting boxes in which terminals are inserted. The first and second leads (i. e. , wire ends) are electrically and mechanically isolated from each other in order for the coil to withstand high voltage power surges. The upper flange also supports a step that has a recessed, side profile that guides the path of the wire to the core without introducing sharp bends or turns into the wire. Excess length of the first and second ends of the wire length are secured to tie off posts that are located on the top of the terminal mounting boxes. These posts, along with the excess wire, are removed when the terminals are inserted into the mounting boxes.

Abstract:
An electrical energy meter is provided with snap fit interlocking parts that eliminate the need for screws or fasteners. The current sensor, located within the meter, has a plurality of current conductors and a notched blade attached to each current conductor that functions as an interlocking component to the meter base without the need for additional fasteners. A circuit board used by the meter is attached to a plurality of integral posts projecting from the base and the periphery of the circuit board has a pair of spaced notches for connection to the ends of a radial communications antenna without the requirement for additional hardware.
