Abstract:
A video recording camera system configured to record video to a non-volatile memory configured as a circular video recording buffer. In an embodiment, the video recording camera system includes a non-volatile storage medium and a processor is configured to manage at least a portion of the non-volatile storage medium as a circular buffer, replacing recorded video data stored in a subset of memory addresses corresponding to an older recorded video frame with the data corresponding to a newer video frame. In further embodiments, clip files may be partitioned from the circular buffer to prevent logical portion of the recorded video from being overwritten upon reaching a capacity of the circular recorded video buffer.

Abstract:
A video recording hands-free device that includes a storage medium, an optical sensor to receive an input image signal, and a processor that is coupled to the storage medium and the optical sensor. The processor is configured to process the input image signal received from the optical sensor into an encoded video data stream and store the encoded video data stream as recorded video data in the storage medium. The processor is also configured to receive and process a video control command to create a video clip file from a logical segment of the recorded video data.

Abstract:
A wireless video recording camera headset providing hands-free video recording and a two-way audio relay to a wireless handset. A recorded video stream is saved to a non-volatile buffer in the headset and may be viewed, edited and manipulated via the wireless handset.
Method And Apparatus For Storing And Streaming Audiovisual Content
A camcorder includes an input interface via which audiovisual information is received at a first rate measured in frames per second, n. A media processor coupled via a bus to the input interface receives the audiovisual information at the rate n, and transfers it to a capture buffer coupled via the bus at a second rate measured in frames per second, x, for storage. An output interface coupled via the bus to the media processor transmits the audiovisual information at a third rate measured in frames per second, y, wherein x plus y is less than or equal to n. A set of computing instructions executed on the general purpose processor in the camcorder program the media processor to transfer the audiovisual information to the capture buffer at the rate x and to transmit the audiovisual information at the rate y to the output interface.

Abstract:
An audiovisual stream source streams frames of encoded audiovisual content over a wireless communication channel according to an encoding bit rate selected in accordance with a data rate of the wireless communication channel. A source mobile device is coupled to the wireless communication channel to receive the plurality of encoded frames and transmit them over a first communication channel at a first data rate. A streaming server coupled to the first communication channel receives the encoded frames and transmits them over a second communication channel at a second data rate. A destination mobile device coupled to the second communication channel receives the encoded frames and displays them. If the source mobile device detects congestion when it transmits the encoded frames over the first communication channel at the first rate, then the source mobile device adjusts the first rate at which the source mobile device transmits the encoded frames over the first communication channel.

Abstract:
A control server periodically receives one of a plurality of thumbnail images, representative of an audiovisual stream, from an audiovisual stream source via a first control channel and transmits the thumbnail image to a plurality of audiovisual stream destinations, selected to receive the audiovisual stream, via a second control channel. The control server receives a request from one of the destination via the second control channel to receive the audiovisual stream responsive to it receiving the thumbnail image. The control server transmits via the first control channel an indication to the audiovisual stream source to transmit the audiovisual stream responsive to the control server receiving the request. A streaming server receives the audiovisual stream from the audiovisual stream source over a first communication channel responsive to the audiovisual stream source receiving the indication. The streaming server then transmits the received audiovisual stream to the destination via a second communication channel.

Abstract:
A video recording camera system provide remote control functionality through a wireless handset interface. In embodiments, a video recording camera includes an optical sensor, a processor coupled to the optical sensor to process an input image signal received from the optical sensor into an encoded video data stream, a non-volatile storage medium coupled to the processor to store, locally in the video recording camera, encoded video data stream as recorded video data, and a wireless transceiver. In embodiments, a cellular-enabled wireless communication handset communicatively couples to the video recording camera over a wireless personal area network (WPAN) supported by the camera's wireless transceiver. The handset serves as a gateway to the camera providing access to recorded video data or functions of the camera, via the WPAN, as determined based on communications conducted by the handset over a cellular communication link.
