The disclosure provides a method of forming carbon dots, including admixing carbon powder with sulfuric acid and nitric acid and heating the carbon powder mixture to reflux to oxidize the carbon powder. The method further includes isolating and purifying the carbon dots. The disclosure further provides applications of the carbon dots for diagnostic analysis (such as bone analysis), fibrillation inhibition, and drug delivery.
Unlike other sealing devices which are internal to a bag and adhered to the bag by heat or glue the current invention is external to the bag, is not adhered to the bag by heat or glue, is free to be moved up or down the bag to remove excess air, is reusable, and can be used on one type of a bag in one instant, removed, and be used on another type of bag. Furthermore, on current sealing devices if anything comes in-between the male and female seals which go directly into each other it renders the seal ineffective, but the current invention is not disturbed at all, and in fact the bag type container becomes part of the seal.

A plasmonic photoconductor sensing platform is provided. The plasmonic photoconductor sensing platform includes an insulating substrate; a semiconducting film placed on top of the insulating substrate; two metal contacts placed at least in part on the semiconducting film to enforce an electric field; a plurality of plasmonic nanostructures deposited on the semiconducting film and physically separated from metal contacts; an insulating layer, the insulating electrically isolating the plasmonic nanostructures from semiconductor; at least one energy source; and at least one microfluidic channel disposed on the insulating layer.
