Abstract:

A raw material delivery system is disclosed. It is used with a press of the type used to compact raw material in a die. The press has a horizontal table with an opening in which the die is held. A feed shoe is movable across the table between an extended position where a central bore of the feed shoe overlies the die and a retracted position. In one embodiment, a vertically movable feed tube is carried on a bridge, and has a passage through which raw material may pass. The vertically movable feed tube receives raw material from a vertically fixed feed tube received telescopically within the vertically movable feed tube. A valve is between the two feed tubes. A valve may be provided between the bridge and the feed shoe so that the raw material passes through this interface without being exposed to cross-ventilation. The vertically movable feed tube may be pivotally connected to the bridge so that the movable feed tube may be pivoted away from the bridge opening when it is desired to change the metal powder or the die. Both the fixed and movable feed tubes may be heated, and heated material may be received by the fixed tube.

Abstract:

Many seat belt configurations have incorporated a belt retraction device into the design of the seat belt apparatus. When the retraction device includes a recoil spool that is housed within the buckle member the function of the buckle member becomes compounded. In order to release the seat belt buckle the operator is often required to move the release handle in a manner that necessitates the use of both his hands. The seat belt apparatus of the present invention provides a buckle member that is moved toward a tongue member to achieve a latching engagement between the two. A latch release member is provided within the buckle housing and is movable in a direction away from the tongue member to release the connection therebetween. This direction of movement is the same as the direction of separation between the buckle member and the tongue. Both operations may be accomplished in one motion and require the use of only one hand.

Abstract:

A portable sanitary facility is disclosed which, in one embodiment is particularly adapted for use by males needing only to relieve themselves of liquid body wastes. A sanitary unit is carried by a trailer to achieve portability between a use station and a disposal site. The sanitary unit includes a main compartment more or less encompassed by a trough with apertures being provided in the compartment walls to drain liquid introduced into the trough into the compartment interior. The main compartment is divided into a plurality of sub-compartments by transverse vertical baffles which include a series of apertures for establishing liquid communication between the subcompartments. The baffles serve to prevent shifting of the liquid load and thus stabilize the trailer during transport to a disposal site. A valved outlet is provided to permit draining the facility at a disposal site. Removable access covers permit entry into the facility interior during fabrication, maintenance and cleaning.
