Abstract:

A compartmented composite container package is disclosed including a tubular composite body wall member closed at one end by a metal closure member, the one end of said body wall member containing a cup for receiving a first product, characterized by the provision of a separator member that is connected with the open end of the cup by a snap-fit connection to isolate the first product from a second product that is introduced into the remaining space within the tubular wall member via the other end thereof. In order to further isolate the products from each other, the separator includes a radially enlarged cylindrical flange portion that circumferentially engages the uniform cylindrical inner wall surface of the tubular body wall member, thereby to cooperate with the snap-fit connection to provide a double sealing result.

Abstract:

A promotional token adapted for attachment to the pull tab ring opener of an easy-open container, characterized in that the token, which is preferably formed of a synthetic plastic material, includes a mounting portion adapted for insertion in the finger opening of the ring, and connecting means for removably fastening said token mounting portion in said ring opening. The connecting means may comprise a plurality of resilient lug means circumferentially spaced about the periphery of the mounting portion of the token, a continuous groove contained in the outer peripheral wall surface of the mounting portion, or lateral wing portions that extend outwardly from the mounting portion across the adjacent portions of the ring opener.

Abstract:

An assembly of a patch top container end and a reusable circumferentially-flanged closure member is disclosed, together with a method for forming the container end and introducing the same within the closure member, characterized in that the container end includes a circumferential tab portion which is folded back through an angle of 180. degree. to a position between the body portion of the container end and the body portion of the closure member. The closure member is then mounted on the open end of a container with the closure member flange extending about the container, the container end being bonded to the extremity of the container end by a temperature or pressure responsive material.
