Abstract:
A side dispensing container closure cap is provided with a hinged lid extending to a side periphery of the cap and which is pivotable from a closed position to an opened position and which has depending side walls along the length of the pivotable portion forming a chute passage to the periphery of the cap, the chute passage has dividing walls between the side walls to define a plurality of chute-like passages. Stops are provided to allow partial opening of the pivoted portion and a reinforcing web interconnects the lower portion of the side walls and dividing walls.

Abstract:
A spooning closure generally comprising a skirt a top, a spooning opening and a hinged spooning lid which is adapted to pivot from a closed position to an open spooning position. Two locking means are provided, one of which is adapted to securely and releasably lock the spooning lid in the closed position and the other of which is adapted to securely and releasably lock the spooning lid in an open spooning position. The lock to hold the spooning lid in the open position is a combination of a spooning lid tongue and a friction engaging slot. The lock to hold the spooning lid closed includes an arcuate latch projection which extends at an acute angle to the spooning lid bottom surface and a cooperating keeper which partially defines the spooning opening and is formed by an arcuate cantilever. Also provided is a reinforcing web extending from the bottom of the spooning lid.

A side dispensing container closure cap is provided with a hinged lid portion extending to a side periphery of the cap which is pivotable from a closed position to an opened position and which has depending sidewalls along the length of the pivotable portion forming a chute opened to the periphery of the cap. The sidewalls preferably are formed as conical sections to enhance sealing along the edge of the hinged portion. Detents may be provided at a spherical front surface of the hinged portion defining the dispensing opening allowing partial opening of the pivoted portion. Extra sealing areas are also provided to permit the closure to be used with liquids.

Abstract:
A shaker closure generally comprising a skirt and a shaker lid, a portion of which is adapted to pivot from a closed position to an open dispensing position. A well deck having a plurality of orifices extends across a portion of the closure top and is covered when the pivotable lid portion is in the closed position. A releasable lock is provided to securely and releasably lock the shaker lid in the closed position. The lock is an eccentric detent formed on the periphery of the pivotable lid portion and an undercut formed on the skirt adapted to releasably engage the detent. A second lock may be provided to hold a generally semi-circular lid in a fully open position, the second lock comprising a pair of arcuate latch projections formed on the periphery of the pivotable lid above the detent and a pair of arcuate locking walls formed on the skirt adapted to releasably engage the latch projections. Also provided are seals for the orifices when the lid is in the closed position to prevent small amounts of granular contents from passing through the orifices. The seals are provided by a membrane surrounding each of the orifices and a plurality of rounded protuberances formed on the bottom of the pivotable lid that are adapted to align with the orifices and sealingly engage the membrane to seal the orifices when the lid is in the closed position.
