Abstract:

A computer-based system and business method for recording vehicle purchase transactions involving sales staff and customers. The method involves, through use of a software-driven program on a PC and corresponding server software operating on a remote server, recording audio and video data using a PC-connected digital video camera and PC-connected microphone, generating transaction-specific data to be saved with the audio and video data, transmitting the transaction-specific data, audio, and video data to a remote server for storage, cataloging, and for later search/retrieval if needed by end users. An improved internet protocol (designated SENIP) is employed for enhanced data security in all client/server data transactions.

Abstract:

A hand held personal alarm incorporating a high intensity light and loud horn and further incorporating a plurality of switches that are located a distance apart that prevents their actuation by the digits of a single hand or by pressing the alarm against a single surface. The switches provide the only means of deactivating the alarm once activated. An alternative embodiment includes a timing circuit that prevents deactivation of the alarm for a set period after activation. Both schemes prevent easy deactivation of the alarm by an assailant, thereby providing more protection than with conventional hand held alarms.

Abstract:

An electronic system for detecting and tracking the resonant frequency of a photoacoustic cell is described. The system includes and makes use of inherent signal acquisition properties. The detection and tracking circuitry promotes acoustic oscillation at the cell resonant frequency while the amplitude of the acoustic oscillation is automatically controlled at a specific reference level. Under normal operation, a change in system oscillation amplitude with respect to the reference level is considered to be the result of additional acoustic excitation other than that provided by the electronic system. Changes in the oscillation amplitude, as compared to a reference level, produce an error signal which is directly related to the additional acoustic excitation. The system is particularly useful in measuring gaseous phase materials over a wide dynamic range of concentrations.
