Abstract:

A throttle body ( ) has a bore ( ) through which intake flow passes. A throttle blade ( ) is disposed within the bore to selectively restrict the flow. The blade has through-holes ( ) extending between its opposite faces ( ). A wedge ( ) has a body ( ) with opposite nonparallel faces ( ), one of which is disposed against one face of the blade. Self-attachment features ( ) extend from the one face of the wedge body through respective through-holes in the blade. Barbs ( ) at the free ends of the self-attachment features catch the opposite face of the blade.
