A hard disk drive module packaged so as to be insertable and removable into a chassis by a user. The hard disk drive module is housed within a connectorized housing, including interface circuits on a printed circuit board, all of which is pluggable into a computer chassis, or the like.
A processor coupled by a high speed, wideband data bus to a plurality of slave data processing circuits. The data bus includes an N-bit set of master registers loaded by the processor and M number of slave modules, each slave module having an N-bit slave data register. The processor can sequentially load the master data registers and transfer the data to a selected slave module in a round-robin manner. A high speed transfer of data is thereby achieved.
An expansion nozzle adapted for use in high pressure, high temperature conditions. The expansion nozzle uses spring compression to operate under constant pressure conditions to efficiently flash hot water into steam. A motor can be employed to automatically adjust the extent of compression of the spring during the flashing operation, to thereby adjust the pressure of the liquid applied to the nozzle. In addition, the expansion nozzle can be equipped with a mechanism to allow cleaning or lapping of the orifice surfaces without disassembly of the expansion nozzle assembly.
An efficient flash evaporation water purification system located at a hydrocarbon well site. An internal combustion engine uses hydrocarbon fuel from the well and drives a pump to pressurize production water from the well. The engine also generates thermal energy used to preheat the production water. An electrical generator is also driven by the engine to produce electrical power for the water purification system, as well as produce AC power for off-site consumers.
A water purification system having an oil and vapor separation subsystem for removing many heavy duty and toxic contaminants from the water. The subsystem removes volatile vapors from the feed water, heats the feed water, and by imparting a swirling vortex action to the heated water, the oils are separated from the water. The water separated from the oil is pumped by a high pressure pump through a helical coil that is heated to a high temperature by the burner. The high temperature, hot water is then fed to an expansion nozzle in an expansion chamber to flash the hot water into steam. The steam is passed through a condenser which converts the steam to purified water.
An expansion nozzle adapted for use in processing high pressure, high temperature liquids. A spring biases a nozzle head into contact with a nozzle seat, but the high pressure liquids processed by the nozzle move the nozzle head away from the nozzle seat to form an orifice therebetween. A motor rotates the nozzle head with respect to the nozzle seat during dynamic operation to grind particles lodged in the orifice. A threaded nut and a catch mechanism are effective to adjust the spring tension and thus the force of the upstream pressurized liquid needed to operate the nozzle. The nozzle can process liquids having gasses, slurries and high concentrations of particulate matter.
