Abstract:

A system automatically updates a patient medication administration schedule in response to a healthcare worker entering data into an information system identifying a time at which a medication was administered to the patient. A medication administration information system comprises a processor for maintaining a schedule identifying a first nominal time for administering a first medication to a patient. The first medication is scheduled for administration to the patient subsequent to administration of a second medication to the patient. The processor updates the schedule by re-calculating the first nominal time for administering the first medication to the patient to provide a re-calculated time in response to received information identifying at least one of, (a) a late administration of the second medication to the patient and (b) an early administration of the second medication to the patient. The late and early administration being relative to a second scheduled nominal time for administering the second medication to the patient. A display generator initiates generation of data representing at least one display image including the re-calculated time for administering the first medication to the patient.

Abstract:

A system provides dual independent medication administration clinical safety checks comprising a check upon medication ordering and a check substantially at the time of medication administration. A system checks safety of medication administration to a patient using an input processor for receiving, an identifier identifying a particular medication and an identifier identifying a particular patient. A first safety processor uses the received identifiers in checking for a clinical condition indicative of potentially impaired safety in administering the particular medication to the particular patient. The checking occurs substantially at the time of administering the particular medication to the particular patient. A display generator initiates generation of data representing at least one display image including a message alerting a user to the safety impairment. A second safety processor checks for a clinical condition indicative of potentially impaired safety in administering the particular medication to the particular patient using received information associated with an order prescribing the particular medication is to be administered to the particular patient.

Abstract:

Various example embodiments for supporting scalable deterministic services in packet networks are presented. Various example embodiments for supporting scalable deterministic services in packet networks may be configured to support delay guarantees (e.g., finite end-to-end delay bounds) for a class of traffic flows referred to as guaranteed-delay (GD) traffic flows. Various example embodiments for supporting scalable deterministic services in packet networks may be configured to support delay guarantees for GD traffic flows of a network based on a queuing arrangement that is based on network outputs of the network, a packet scheduling method that is configured to support scheduling of packets of the GD traffic flows, and a service rate allocation rule configured to support delay guarantees for the GD traffic flows.
