Abstract:
This invention relates to accessing security systems through a communication system such as the Internet, a LAN or a WAN, using a virtual remote keypad application which includes an audio capability to enhance user understanding of the security system's status. The virtual remote keypad application receives status information from the user's security system and audibly announces a change in status to the user.

Abstract:
A communications scheme enables a central communications station to assist two communications systems located behind firewalls that prevent communication initiated from an external data network to establish direct communication with each other. In one embodiment, the systems separately establish communications with the central communications station and obtain from it the connection information (e. g. , IP address, port, etc. ) of the other. The systems then directly communicate with each other using the obtained connection information while pretending to be the central communications station. In another embodiment in which the firewalls include NAT devices that implement network address translation, the systems exchange connection information for establishing a new connection through the central communications station and then complete a three-way handshake with the assistance of the central communications station, thereby allowing the central communications station to remove itself from the communication.

Abstract:
Image data from a video surveillance camera is moved from a volatile memory such as a circular buffer to a non-volatile memory such as a flash memory when a loss of signal from the camera is detected. The loss of signal may occur when an intruder disables the system such as by cutting a cable, by vandalizing the camera so that it no longer can transmit image data, or removing the camera altogether. The loss of signal is detected by determining whether a signal portion such as a start of active video code, end of active video code, or horizontal or vertical blanking interval, is present on a communication path of the camera. The system ensures that an image of the intruder is captured and stored before the system is disabled. Analog signals from the camera may be digitized for storage.

Abstract:
An auto-connect virtual keypad in one aspect allows for automatic notification of events occurring at a security system control panel to a remote consumer device and/or provides remote access to the control panel from a consumer device by providing a virtual keypad interface on the consumer device. The consumer device in one aspect may include a mobile device or desktop.

Abstract:
A method and system for remotely controlling a security panel of a security alarm system over un-encrypted communication paths are provided. In one aspect, a message is received in plain text over un-encrypted communication path, for example, from a remote device to control a security panel of a security system installed at a premise. The plain text message is correlated to a security panel command and the security panel command is sent to a security panel installed at the premise. The security panel executes the command and sends a confirmation status message. The status message is correlated to a second plain text message and communicated over the un-encrypted communication path to the remote device that initiated the command.

Abstract:
A system and method are provided that allow mobile devices to securely communicate over wireless network with one or more security system control panels for controlling the security systems remotely. A mobile device may include an application or software that presents a virtual security keypad to the user on the mobile device for entering data or receiving data as if the user were directly using a security system control panel at a premise being secured. Mobile device communicates with a network operating center system using encrypted communication. The network operating decrypts the communication from the mobile device and sends it to a security system control panel. The network operating center system receives responses from the security system control panel, encrypts the responses and sends to the mobile device.

Abstract:
A method used a security system monitoring a secure area. The method includes a first processor of the security system providing a status of the security system including an active status output and a disarmed status output signal, a video system monitoring the secured area by capturing and locally saving images, a second processor of the video monitoring system activating one or more video cameras of the video monitoring system monitoring an interior space of the secured area upon receipt of the active status output signal and deactivating the video cameras upon receipt of a disarmed status output signal.
Systems And Methods For Broadcasting An Audio Or Visual Alert That Includes A Description Of Features Of An Ambient Object Extracted From An Image Captured By A Camera Of A Doorbell Device
Systems and methods for broadcasting an audio or visual alert that includes a description of features associated with a person extracted from an image captured by a camera are provided. Such systems and methods can include the camera capturing the image when the person is within a field of view of the camera and a processor receiving the image from the camera, processing the image with an artificial intelligence model to identify and extract details of the features associated with the person, and initiating a broadcast of the audio or visual alert by an alert device associated with the camera, wherein the audio or visual alert can include the description of the features associated with the person.
