Abstract:

A control system for individual section glassware forming machines is disclosed which includes a first storage means for storing a control program defining a series of predetermined forming steps and job history and other data from the individual sections. A plurality of individual sections control means, individual to each of the individual sections of the glassware forming machines, generate control signals to the glassware forming means in accordance with the control program. A forming supervisory control means is connected between the first storage means and the individual section control means for loading the control program and job history data into the individual section control means and for reading operating data from the individual section control means. A plurality of machine supervisory control means are provided, each machine supervisory control means being connected between the forming supervisory control means and the individual section control means associated with one of the glassware forming machines. The machine supervisory control means function as multiplexers controlling the bidirectional flow of data between the forming supervisory control means and the individual section control means.
