Abstract:
A system and method for displaying aircraft traffic information on an onboard display element of a host aircraft are provided. The system obtains current flight status data of the host aircraft and current flight status data of a second aircraft that is near the host aircraft, and processes the current flight status data of the host aircraft and the current flight status data of the second aircraft to determine an in-trail procedure (ITP) opportunity region for the host aircraft. The ITP opportunity region is associated with conditions that satisfy ITP criteria for the host aircraft. The system renders, on the onboard display element, an ITP display comprising graphical representations of the host aircraft and the second aircraft positioned in accordance with the current flight status data of the host aircraft and the current flight status data of the second aircraft. The ITP display further includes a graphical representation of the ITP opportunity region.

Abstract:
Provided are methods and systems for the disambiguation of an in trail procedure (ITP) vertical display by calculating and rendering symbology on a plan view traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS) display. The symbology represents an intersection point between the ground track of an ITP aircraft and the ground track of a blocking aircraft and further represents an association between the intersection point and the respective ITP blocking aircraft.

Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing improved In-Trails Procedure (ITP) or standard (STD) transition information on a display with a vertical profile view. In an exemplary embodiment, a user interface located on a host aircraft receives a user selection of a desired altitude. A processor on the host aircraft receives information from one or more proximate target aircraft via a communications system on the host aircraft and receives host aircraft information from one or more other systems located on the host aircraft. The processor generates a graphical user interface display for presentation on a display coupled to the processing device. The graphical user interface display includes a vertical profile view that shows a valid or invalid indication for an In-Trails Procedure (ITP) or standard (STD) transition to the altitude associated with the received desired altitude based on the received proximate target aircraft and host aircraft information.

Abstract:
A method is provided for controlling touch screen operation of a display device. The method includes: switching an operation of the touch screen to a turbulence mode based on at least one of a detection of turbulence and a user request to enter the turbulence mode. When the operation of the touch screen is in the turbulence mode, one of the following is performed: modifying a user interface, or processing touch sensor input data to determine a selection based on a turbulence processing method.
