In a liquid crystal display, a crosstalk correction signal which is the same for all video or pixel input signals is provided either directly from the input signals or from the column signal. The input signals are combined with the correction signal and modulated onto carrier signals, then, e. g. , may be coupled to the LCDs through a single-wire row or column connection. The correction signal can be derived from either the pixel input signals or the column signal.
A single carrier is amplitude-modulated by a signal which is a transform (as the sine function) of the audio signal, and one set of sidebands is removed. In a receiver, the signal can be recovered by first deriving the Hilbert transform of the sine transform, and multiplying it by the signum of the derivative of the original audio signal to obtain the cosine transform. The sine and cosine transforms are then decoded to obtain the original audio signal.
The volume of gases in a container or the volume of liquid in the container is determined by creating cyclic pressure waves in the gases and detecting the waves by a second transducer. The signals produced by the second transducer are a function of the volume of gas in the container, and the volume of any liquid can be obtained by simple calculation. The signals can also provide detection of an open container and, when coupled to signals relating to the velocity of a vehicle, can provide other data such as a miles-per-gallon reading.
Compatible Single Sideband System For Am Stereo Broadcasting
A system for the transmission and reception of two program signals L and R on a single channel by means of a compatible SSB AM stereophonic signal having the form (1+L+R)cos(. omega. sub. c t+. phi. ) where. phi. is arc sin{[(L-R)/. pi. /2] [1+(L +R)/2] / (1+L + R)}. The system is also applicable to transmission of one program signal on one set of sidebands.

Abstract:
An AM receiver for receiving a compatible stereo signal and requiring a dynamic correction factor prevents the introduction of a false phase reference signal by limiting and filtering the signal going into the oscillator of the PLL which provides the correction reference signal.

Abstract:
A cold-cathode field emission device controls electron emission by using a current source coupled to the emitter. The open circuit voltage of the current source is less than the voltage at which the FED would emit electrons. Application of an accelerating potential on the gate enables electron emission. Electron emission from the FED is governed by the current source.

Abstract:
An AM receiver for utilizing a broadcast signal of the form (1+L+R) cos (. omega. sub. c t+. phi. ) separates the L and R signals by utilizing phase detection and matrixing. Distortion is either eliminated with non-linear amplification or reduced with partial matrixing.
A circuit for deriving the signum of the derivative of a signal is disclosed.

It's been 34 years since Ferguson was first sentenced to die. That is longer than many on death row but by no means the record in Florida. Corrections Department records show that several inmates have been on Death Row since the early 1970s and one, Norman Parker, first got there in 1967.

Manuel Valle executed, 33 years after killing police officer
Plessinger said 397 inmates are on Death Row at two different facilities. Several inmates have been on Death Row longer than Valle, including Norman Parker, who has been there since 1967. According to the department, the average length of stay on Death Row is nearly 13 years.
