The method supplies a mixture of petroleum distillates and terpenoid compounds, and a salt extraction formulation comprising a mixture of humic acid and fulvic acid. The method discontinues the extraction of materials from the oil well, disposing the mixture of petroleum distillates and terpenoid compounds into the oil well, and disposes the salt extraction formulation into the oil well. The method recirculates the oil well, and then returns the oil well to service.

The method determines a treatment pressure based upon soil porosity in the selected zone, injects a brine solution into the selected production zone at the selected pressure, and maintains the selected pressure in the selected production zone for at least 72 hours.

A method for removing sludge from a crude oil storage tank comprising a bottom and a moveable roof configured to float on the top of a quantity of crude oil disposed in said storage tank, where the method includes reducing a volume of crude oil in the storage tank to about a level of a sludge sediment in the storage tank, measuring a topology of the sludge disposed on said bottom, reliquefying asphaltene deposits, pumping the reliquefying asphaltene deposits out of the storage tank, wherein the method is performed without the entry of one or more persons into said storage tank.
