A change return protection device is disclosed which prevents thieves for stuffing flexible material into coin-operated machine's, coin return chutes. The device seals off the change return's change return chute when the change return door is opened, and it prevents stuffing of the change return chute by also incorporating a blocking flap and a slot blocking plate around which the flexible material cannot be inserted. Abstract:

The device prevents stuffing of the change return chute when the change return door is opened by incorporating a blocking flap and a swinging flap around which the flexible material cannot be inserted. The device also includes a reinforcement plate which more securely joins the blocking flap to the change return door and a flat plate having V-shaped notch with sharpened edges which further prevents stuffing. Finally, the device includes an adjustable screw which restricts the size of the coin return door opening. The device is suitable for use in existing change return mechanisms.

Abstract:

A horseman's pocket knife has a handle into which a plurality of useful blades can be folded. The knife includes a hoof-cutting blade with a cutting edge along one side. A hook-shaped cross section is established at the end of the hoof-cutting blade and its tip is also provided with a cutting edge. The width of the hoof-cutting blade toward the hooked end and the size of the hook are dimensioned so that the cutting blade can be folded into the handle without interferring with the handle or other blades. A hoof-cleaning blade in the shape of a hook in the plane of the blade may also be provided for removing stones and other debris from the horse's hoof.

Abstract:

A telephone is secured against vandalism by a double layer face plate or assemblage of tough materials. The assemblage consists of an outer plate covering most of the front of a telephone upper housing or casing, and a second layer covering the housing casing in areas not covered by the outer layer. Two such areas are those which involve openings in the outer or first layer for mounting the standard information pads above and below the dial push buttons. The second layer is open in the area of the push buttons, but the outer layer is provided with a grid thereat for preventing the housing or casing pushbutton grid from being pried out. The outer plate may be provided with wings to also secure the sides and top of the housing or casing against drilling and the insertion of a wire to pin the coin switch vane or to ground the coin switch relay to hold up deposited coins. The outer plate may also be provided with depending portions to cover the telephone coin box and coin return bucket. A horizontally extending plate at the bottom of the depending portions provides a stand for soft ground when the casing and its protection assemblage is unlocked and removed from the telephone.

Abstract:

A horseshoe stock piece and various complementary pieces provide variety of custom features for horseshoes such as heel calk trailers, trailer calks, calk horseshoes and patent shoes. The stock piece is a horseshoe structure with conventional top or hoof surface, a bottom or ground surface, inner and outer faces, fullering on the ground side, and nail holes within the fullering. The heel end of each arm of the stock piece has a flat, rectangular recess formed in the ground surface face which is from 40%-60% of the depth or thickness of the shoe stock. A transverse groove is formed in the central portion of the recess. The groove has walls which are perpendicular to the surface of the groove and there is a threaded aperture formed in the base of the groove. The foregoing is dimensioned to receive a complementary piece secured in the recess. The complementary piece has a transverse extension or lug extending into the groove.

Abstract:

An improvement in a coin operated device having coin return bucket and a bank box wherein the coin return bucket and the bank box are mounted within the device near a bottom wall of the device. The improvement relates to preventing tampering with and/or vandalization of the device by cutting or penetration of a bottom wall of the coin return bucket or the inner wall of the bank box. The improvement lies in the use of a bottom wall protection plate which prevents tampering and/or vandalization and which is inserted between the bottom wall of the device and the bottom of the coin return bucket and an inner side wall protection plate inserted between the inner wall of the coin return bucket and the inner wall of the bank box. The bottom wall protection plate is so configured as to generally follow the contour of the bottom of the coin return bucket and has a rear portion which extends downwardly to the bottom wall of the device and front portion of which lies along the bottom wall of the device and which stabilizes the bottom wall protection plate from movement within the device. The inner side wall protection plate is configured to be inserted between the inner wall of the coin return bucket and the controlling plate of the bank box and the bottom wall of the bank box and the exterior bottom wall of the device.

Abstract:

An attachment for a carpenter's folding ruler has an elongated body with a longitudinal slot. The slot is dimensioned to accept the ruler and the ends of the body have flat sections against which part of the ruler can be folded to form certain angles.
