Abstract:
A figure ornament and method of making same which utilizes a thin, sheet material body having a longitudinally oriented solid center section which extends through the body dividing the body into a right side lobe and a left side lobe. Both the right side lobe and the left side lobe include a mass of thin slits. The center section is then folded upon itself forming a compact stack with the right side lobe and the left side lobe flaring outwardly from the compact stack defining an ornamental figure shape. There is then to be used an adhesive or clip for securing the compact stack so as to maintain the compact stack in its established position.
Decorative Ornament With A Circular Array Of Outwardly Extending Members And Method Of Making Same
A decorative ornament that is constructed by wrapping a pair of sections sequentially onto a core. Each section is composed of thin, pliable sheet material which includes a mass of slits forming a plurality of first upstanding members within one section and a plurality of second upstanding members within the second section. The outer tips of the first upstanding members are free and the apexes of the second upstanding members are free. Both the first section and the second section each include a solid uncut border with these borders to be wound onto the core in an overlapping arrangement. The slits within each section are located transverse to their respective border.

Abstract:
A suspending ornament that is designed primarily for Christmas trees that is composed of a sheet material member that is wound on a core member. The core member is to be adjustable in length and when shortened produces a tubular configuration of the sheet material. The sheet material member includes a mass of slits which produces an attractive stringy type of appearance when in the tubular configuration. The sheet material member should be designed to be colorful. There may be mounted on the core member a decoration which would be observable through the slits of the tubular configuration of the sheet material member changing the tubular configuration to a globular configuration.
