Abstract:
A light emitting device comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, an emissive material between the first and second electrodes and a mixing agent separate from the emissive material is disclosed. In certain examples, the mixing agent may be effective to increase a fraction of excitons formed as a singlet state.
Systems And Methods For Directing Content Without Compromising Privacy
The present invention provides systems and methods for gathering information about a person, maintaining this information within a protective zone that is isolated from third parties, maintaining the identities of available third party data content, producing a set of identified targeted third party data content based upon the gathered information and the identities of available third party data content, and directing the identified targeted data content to an end user's computer. In this way, detailed private information may be collected and processed within a protective zone to identify targeted data content, such as advertisements, for example, whereby the only information that leaves the protective zone are the requests for the identified targeted data content. These systems and methods can be utilized to obtain targeted third party medically-related data content without compromising one's privacy.
Systems And Methods For Quantifying Qualitative Medical Expressions
The systems and methods of the invention can process a qualitative expression, typically a phrase, to generate a numerical value that represents the likelihood of an event as expressed by the given qualitative expression. The qualitative expressions typically are made up of a probability term and possibly a term of degree and one or more terms of negation. Thus, the systems described herein allow numerical information to be captured from qualitative expressions. This, allows further numeric processing and data refining, and facilitates the development of databases of information, such as databases of information about the significance of the existence of a symptom for the diagnosis of a particular disease.
Fiber-Reinforced Composites, Methods Therefor, And Articles Comprising The Same
Disclosed herein are fiber-reinforced composites. These materials are useful in load-bearing components for mechanical systems, and other applications. Also disclosed herein are methods of making and using such composites, articles comprising the same, and the like. For example, some embodiments of the invention are generally directed to composites comprising discontinuous agents such as fibers or platelets which are positioned within a substrate, e.g., formed from a plurality of continuous fibers. In some cases, the discontinuous agents may be substantially aligned, for example, by attaching magnetic particles onto the agents and using a magnetic field to manipulate the agents. Other embodiments are generally directed to systems and methods for making or using such composites, kits involving such composites, or the like.
