Abstract:
Muzzle-guard is a regular brake attached to the end of a gun barrel. Powder gasses are led to it in a special way: through openings in the barrel. The flows of the gasses to the brake are steared by the movement of the bullet. Gasses leaving the brake do so coaxially in the form of a widening cone. The muzzle-guard acts like a brake against recoil, lessens the noise and flash of the discharge, also lessens the impact of the gasses on the bullet right after the bullet leaves the barrel, and allows the escape of the compressed air in the front of the bullet. By special ballistics of the ammunition the muzzle-guard according to FIG. 4 makes the recoil almost imperceptible.

Abstract:
A fire-arm having a stable or slidable barrel, receiver, bolt and stock is provided with coaxial to the barrel slidable mass and recoil springs. During discharge the entire impulse of the recoil-force is transferred to the arrangement of slidable mass which recoils towards the gunner and thereafter the recoiling mass imparts the recoil-momentum to the fire-arm or moves against the thrust of recoil-springs to the stop point. The entire kinetic energy of the arrangement of the slidable mass is balanced by the mechanical work of the thrust of the recoil-springs. This slidable mass and the recoil springs are chosen according to the designed gear ratio and the magnitude of kinetic energy of the slidable mass. Thus the equilibrium between the thrust forces of the springs and the resistance of the gunner or tripod, are reached much easier.
In order to use cases for firearms of various materials such: aluminum, (which is inexpensive), brass, iron and to facilitate use of greater pressure while insuring reliable operation of the gun, this invention proposes the use of divided holders fixed in the chamber (dies which are adjustable). These holders, after discharge of the cartridge, move back along with the case and the bolt, a very short distance, spread out, loosening the case. The case moves farther along with the bolt, and is ejected in regular manner. The bolt introduces the next cartridge into the chamber, etc.
