Philosophy:

My first goal is always to try to understand without judgment. I believe that therapy is most helpful if my patient feels truly heard, truly cared about. I believe in involving my patients in their care, being sensitive to what they hope to accomplish. I try to establish a way of working with each patient that is comfortable to him/her but still challenging. I draw from a variety of approaches and theoretical orientations because I do not believe that "one size fits all". I enjoy bringing creativity and humor into counseling, when appropriate. I am comfortable integrating spirituality with psychotherapy for patients who wish this (but also completely respect those who don't).
