Abstract:

The present disclosure provides a method that efficiently produces (6R)-tetrahydrobiopterin of Formula I in high yield and purity. The method includes the step of hydrolyzing diacetylbiopterin to biopterin under basic conditions in a biphasic mixture comprising an organic phase and an aqueous phase. After substantially complete hydrolysis of diacetylbiopterin, the aqueous phase containing biopterin can be separated from the organic phase containing most of the organic impurities, which avoids the time-consuming step of isolating biopterin as a solid. The aqueous solution containing biopterin is stereoselectively hydrogenated to (6R)-tetrahydrobiopterin under basic conditions and high hydrogen pressure in the presence of a metal catalyst (e. g. , a platinum catalyst). Abstract:

A set of bed dust ruffles, preferably made of cloth, which has along its upper, unruffled border, i. e. , perimeter, a mesh or screen is disclosed. The mesh affixed to the ruffles is to be releasably attached to attachment, or fastening, means located on the box spring. Such attachment means, or fastening means, preferably include a sphere or conical head which may be affixed to the box spring or mattress of the bed. The fastening means preferably includes an adhesive layer which contacts the box spring or mattress of the bed, an intermediate foam layer, and an upper layer of, preferably, plastic or other material. The upper layer is to be attached to the head which is to releasably engaged to the flexible mesh of the unruffled poriton of the invention. The preferred fastening means also should include means for permitting the additional engagement of fastening pins, which would penetrate the upper layer, the intermediate form layer, and the lower adhesive layer. A fire and wear-resistant strap material particularly useful in conjunction with fire fighting apparatus is disclosed. Abstract:

Introduced here are techniques for incentivizing the consumption of foodstuffs through the use of augmented reality features. A parent may initiate an application on a mobile phone and scan a plate of one or more foodstuffs by initiating a live view captured by a camera. The parent can then select a given foodstuff that a child is unlikely to consume. When the child views the given foodstuff through the mobile phone, a portion of an augmented reality feature could be shown. For example, the child may be able to see the tail of a creature, a corner of a item, etc. As the child consumes the given foodstuff, additional portion(s) of the augmented reality feature are exposed, and the augmented reality feature becomes increasingly visible. Such a technique incentivizes the child to continue eating the given foodstuff so that the augmented reality feature can be fully seen.

Abstract:

In some embodiments, a tenant computing device is provided with a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to indicate a desired sharing between a tenant and landlord which improves the speed and accuracy of the interaction. The GUI contains a wheel image indicating the tenant and landlord portions, and a slider bar with a movable button to change the portions on the slider bar, to provide redundant feedback to the user with two graphical variations. Movement of the button on the slider bar also changes the portions on the wheel, providing additional feedback in a different graphic to enhance the information and result in a faster response from the user. A mirror image GUI is provided on a landlord computing device, and is similarly adjustable by the landlord. A GUI matching module determines when the tenant GUI and the landlord mirror image GUI match, and the next step in the process is enabled.
