A nacelle assembly for a bypass gas turbine engine includes a variable area fan nozzle having a first fan nacelle section and a second fan nacelle section. The variable area fan nozzle is in communication with a fan bypass flow path, the first fan nacelle section defines an intermittent trailing edge which defines a multiple of ports and the second fan nacelle section defines a multiple of doors, each of the multiple of doors match each of the multiple of ports such that a fan nacelle trailing edge is continuous when the second fan nacelle section is selectively translated to a closed position relative to the first fan nacelle section.
A slider seal assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a housing, a seal plate moveable relative to the housing and a retaining ring. The housing includes an outer surface, an inner surface, and a recessed opening between the outer surface and the inner surface. The seal plate is received within the recessed opening. The inner surface of the housing includes a curved portion which is curved in an outward direction toward the outer surface.
A rural mailbox used for temporarily mails storage has a tiltable secondary-door that can be tilted forward to open and provide a secondary access to mailbox compartment in any position surrounding the mailbox.
A rural mailbox used for temporarily mails storage having a flexible support system or a flexi-modular that absorbs and reduces lateral impact through its spring system/mechanism by allowing the support arm to deflect and soften the magnitude of shock impact. The flexible support system or flexi-modular is a horizontal member of the mailbox post and can be utilized or mounted on any traditional mailbox vertical member or post that made of woods or hard plastics. The flexible support system or flexi-modular includes a base, a leaf spring, a horizontal support member and a pivot bolt assembly. The base is a main interface to the vertical post, as well as other sub-components of the flexi-modular. It is integrated with two extended lugs that hold the horizontal member through the pivot bolt and allow it to swing in plane to the left or right of the mailbox. The leaf or coil spring is attached to the base by fasteners, and its duty is to reposition the horizontal member after every impact, also acts like a load damper, which minimizes or absorbs impact and help to prolong the mailbox and its post support through many more winters. More importantly, the flexi-modular maintains a classy and traditional appearance of the rural mailbox assembly.
A thrust reverser for a gas turbine engine includes a hinge, a propulsion system duct, and a kicker blocker. Bypass air and gas path air travel through the propulsion system duct and the propulsion system duct has an intake inlet and an exhaust outlet. The kicker blocker has a kicker portion and a blocker portion. The kicker blocker is rotatably attached to the hinge and is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position. The blocker portion extends into the propulsion system duct when the kicker blocker is in the deployed position to block bypass air and gas path air traveling through the propulsion system duct in a first direction prior to the exhaust outlet, thereby redirecting the bypass air and the gas path air in a second direction.
Gas Turbine Engine Synchronizing Ring With Multi-Axis Joint
An assembly includes a synchronizing ring, a vane arm, and a multi-axis joint. The multi-axis joint connects the synchronizing ring to the vane arm and provides the vane arm with movement about a first pivot axis and a second pivot axis.
A bushing includes a cylindrical bushing body with a lubricant aperture and a dry lubrication source. The bushing defines a main bushing bore therethrough along a longitudinal axis. The lubricant aperture is defined in the bushing body along an angle relative to the longitudinal axis. The dry lubrication source is disposed in the lubricant aperture. A variable vane system includes a cylindrical case, a plurality of vanes projecting radially inward from the case, and a plurality of bushings. Each vane includes a respective vane stem operatively connecting an end of each vane to the case. Each bushing is disposed on one of the respective vane stems between the vane stem and the case. The respective vane stem is disposed within the main bushing bore and each bushing is slidingly engaged with the case.

Abstract:
A synchronization ring for a gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a synchronization ring for a variable vane assembly. A plurality of rollers are attached to the synchronization ring for engaging a case on the gas turbine engine.
