Abstract:

A method for writing servo information onto a disk of a hard disk drive with a servo writer. The disk has a circumferential index and a band of servo reference tracks. The circumferential index is detected from a clock signal generated from a clock track of the disk. The reference tracks include radial indices. A spiral servo pattern is written upon the detection of the circumferential index and a radial index. The servo writer includes a phase detector that detects changes in the relative position of the circumferential and radial indices and a delay circuit that delays the clock signal to offset such changes.

Abstract:

A security system includes an electronic lock and an electronic key. The electronic key holds identification data that notifies the lock of the key's functional type and the locks that the key is authorized to open. In one embodiment, circuitry in the lock checks whether an inserted key holds an access code that is more recent than a corresponding access code stored in the lock, indicating that the data on the inserted key is more current than the data stored in the lock. The lock is then automatically reprogrammed with the data stored in the inserted key.

First local data is obtained from a first client connected to a central server. The first local data is generated according to a first data format by a first point of sale system connected to the first client. The first point of sale system is associated with a first entity. Second local data is obtained from a second client connected to the central server. The second local data is generated according to a second data format by a second point of sale system connected to the second client. The first and second local data are filtered based on rules. A remote target is identified. Formatted data is generated from the filtered data based on an interface associated with the remote target. The formatted data has a third data format associated with the remote target, and appears to be associated with a single entity. The formatted data is provided to the remote target.
