Certain embodiments of the disclosed technology may include systems and apparatus for providing a light reflector, light fixture, light fixture retrofit apparatus, lamp reflector, lamp retrofit apparatus or luminaire reflector retrofit. According to an example embodiment of the disclosed technology, a light reflector is provided that includes two or more nested cone-shaped layers configured for reflecting light from a light source placed in proximity to the inner cone portion. The two or more nested cone-shaped layers include a reflection layer disposed adjacent to an outer cone portion of the layers. The two or more nested cone-shaped layers further include a lenticular optical film disposed between the reflection surface of the reflection layer and an inner cone portion.

Abstract:
Certain embodiments of the invention may include system apparatus for providing a light diffusion and condensing fixture. According to an example embodiment, a light fixture is configured for illuminating subjects and it includes an enclosure cavity. The enclosure defines a cavity with an opening and one or more reflective inner surfaces. The light fixture also includes a frame structure defining an optical aperture and the frame structure is disposed proximate to the opening. The light fixture also includes two or more film tensioners associated with the frame structure. The light fixture also includes at least one light source positioned between the one or more reflective surface and a plane defined by the optical aperture. The light fixture further includes at least one optical film comprising at least one lenticular lens surface and the at least one optical film is suspended substantially parallel to the optical aperture by the two or more tensioners.
Systems, Methods, And Apparatus For A Light Reflector
Certain embodiments of the invention may include reflector systems, methods, and apparatus for providing a light reflector. According to an example embodiment of the invention, a method is provided for manufacturing a multi-layer light reflector. The method can include attaching a rear reflective layer to a lenticular lens optical film layer. The lenticular lens optical film layer includes a smooth surface and a structured surface. The rear reflective layer is disposed adjacent to or in contact with the smooth surface of the lenticular optical film. The method also includes attaching a diffusion layer to the lenticular lens optical film layer. The diffusion layer includes a smooth film surface and a structured diffusing surface. The smooth film surface of the diffusion film is disposed adjacent to or in contact with the structured surface of the lenticular lens optical film.
Certain embodiments may include system apparatus for providing optical film lens assemblies, light fixtures, and film tensioning frame. According to an example embodiment, a lens assembly is configured for modifying light from a light source associated with a light fixture enclosure, wherein the lens assembly is characterized by one or more optical films that are characterized by at least one or more lenticular surfaces. The lens assembly is further characterized by a curved plane. Certain embodiments of the disclosed technology may include light reflector systems, methods, and apparatus. According to an example embodiment, a light reflector is provided. The light reflector includes a rear reflector that includes a reflective surface. The light reflector includes a lenticular optical film having a smooth surface and a structured surface. The smooth surface of the lenticular optical film is attached or disposed adjacent to the reflective surface. The lenticular optical film is configured for condensing and diffusing light.
In an example embodiment of the disclosed technology, a modular pod lighting system for plants may comprise a light containment enclosure, which may further comprise a light panel with one side configured to emit light, wherein the light panel may be configured to hang from an above structural element in a relatively horizontal orientation. The modular pod lighting system for plants may further comprise side reflection curtains attached to opposing edges of the light panel, wherein the reflection curtains may extend downwards away from the light panel. The light containment enclosure may be configured to partially enclose plants therein, and wherein light emitted from the light panel may be partially contained and recycled within the light containment enclosure. The light containment enclosure may further comprise bottom reflectors disposed on top of plant containment devices.
An example embodiment of substrate tensioning system is disclosed that may comprise a frame including four sides and channels, wherein the channels may comprise a first surface, a second surface that opposes the first surface, and an edge truss retention feature. The substrate tensioning system may further comprise at least one substrate including four major edges and a first surface, wherein each major edge is configured with one or more edge trusses configured from corresponding folds in the at least one substrate, such that the edge trusses may be configured at an angle relative to the first surface of the substrate. The at least one substrate may attach to the frame, wherein each edge truss may nest inside, and be secured inside a corresponding frame channel, wherein a perimeter edge of each outermost edge truss may be engaged by the corresponding frame channel's edge truss retention feature.
A lens apparatus is disclosed that can include at least one piece of optical film comprising two or more major edges, a front light-emitting side, a back light-receiving side and four corner regions, each having one or more associated minor edges defining one or more corner cuts that define a corner cutout. The lens apparatus may also include an edge truss configured on the two or more major edges, wherein each edge truss may be disposed towards the back light-receiving side of the at least one piece of optical film. Each edge truss may include one or more sides configured from a corresponding fold in the at least one piece of optical film, wherein at least one of the one or more sides of each edge truss may be configured to impart support to the lens apparatus and to resist deflection of each edge truss.
