  • Assignee:
    Greatbatch Ltd. - Clarence NY
  • International Classification:
    H01M 12/00
  • US Classification:
    429 9
  • Abstract:
A lithium oxyhalide cell electrically connected in parallel with a lithium ion cell is described. Importantly, the open circuit voltage of the freshly built primary lithium oxyhalide cell is equal to or less that the open circuit voltage of the lithium ion cell in a fully charged state. This provides a power system that combines the high capacity of the primary cell with the high pulse power of the secondary cell. This hybrid power system exhibits increased rate capability, higher capacity and improved safety in addition to elimination of voltage delay in comparison to a comparable lithium oxyhalide cell discharge alone.

  • Abstract:
Provided herein are methods for processing electrochemically active materials and resulting active material structures for use in rechargeable batteries. The resulting active materials structures include carbon containing coatings that partially or completely cover the surface of the active material structures. In a typical embodiment, the method includes providing a solution of carbon containing precursor in a solvent, dispersing electrochemically active material in the solution to form a mixture, removing the solvent from the mixture to form electrochemically active material coated with the carbon containing precursor, and heating the electrochemically active material coated with the carbon containing precursor in an inert atmosphere at a temperature sufficient to at least partially convert the carbon containing precursor into a carbon coating. Also provided are an electrochemically active material prepared according to the methods described herein, as well as an electrode and a rechargeable electrochemical cell, each containing such electrochemically active material.
  • Electronic Circuits With Directly Integrated Electrochemical Cells

  • US Patent:
    20220384771, Dec 1, 2022
  • Filed:
    Aug 12, 2022
  • Appl. No.:
    17/819453
  • Inventors:
    - Alameda CA, US
Konstantin Tikhonov - Pleasanton CA, US
Christine Ho - Fremont CA, US
Alexander Gurr - Berkeley CA, US
  • Assignee:
Imprint Energy, Inc. - Alameda CA
  • International Classification:
    H01M 4/04
    H01M 10/04
    H01M 10/42
  • Abstract:
Provided are electronic circuits, comprising electrochemical cells directly integrated with other devices of the circuits, and methods of manufacturing these circuits. The direct integration occurs during cell manufacturing, which allows sharing components, reducing operation steps and failure points, and reducing cost and size of the circuits. For example, a portion of a cell enclosure may be formed by a circuit board, providing direct mechanical integration. More specifically, the cell is fabricated right on the circuit board. In the same or other examples, one or both cell current collectors extend outside of the cell boundary and used by other devices, providing direct electrical integration without a need for intermediate connections and eliminating additional failure points. Furthermore, printing one or more components of electrochemical cells, such as electrolytes and current collectors, allows achieving higher levels of mechanical and electrical integration that are generally not available in conventional cells.

The technology may include receiving event data describing events from distributed software applications and processing the event data describing the events to generate notifications, the event data being received based on execution of a software recipe. The bot may transmit the notifications for display to a user using a conversational interface and receive a command from the user via the conversational interface, the command including a requested operation respective to at least one delivered notification. In response to receiving the command, the method may generate recommendations for additional commands respective to the at least one notification based on metadata associated with an event corresponding to the at least one notification.
