  • US Patent:
    44794835, Oct 30, 1984
  • Filed:
    Apr 26, 1983
  • Appl. No.:
    6/488653
  • Inventors:
Kenneth H. Raihala - Superior WI
  • International Classification:
    F23L 300
  • US Classification:
    126292
  • Abstract:
A safety stovepipe damper assembly designed for use with a conventional type stovepipe and damper as used on coal, wood, or waste burning stoves. Provisions are made for presetting the damper to a specific low fire or closed position. A latch is also provided to hold the damper at an open position when desired. A heat activated means of releasing the damper from an open damper position is contained within the safety assembly. When activated by abnormally high stovepipe temperatures, the damper returns by gravity to its preset or closed position. The safety assembly can be used on vertically or horizontally installed stovepipe and damper assemblies in all sizes.

  • US Patent:
    54644615, Nov 7, 1995
  • Filed:
    Dec 1, 1993
  • Appl. No.:
    8/160681
  • Inventors:
Frederick A. Whitson - Oconomowoc WI

  • Assignee:
Electronic Cable Specialists, Inc. - Franklin WI
  • International Classification:
    B01D 4610
  • US Classification:
    55480
  • Abstract:
A filter assembly for a coolant air stream flowing through an LRU box has a base frame with a large opening superimposed on the perforated top surface of the box. A filter element is superimposed over the opening and a cover having a large opening is hinged to the base frame and latched thereto with its opening aligned with the other opening. The filter assembly is clamped by means of a harness to the LRU box with a clamping band that wraps around one end of the LRU box and one end portion of the base frame simultaneously. Spring tensioned cable sections attach to the band and extend diagonally along the sides of the LRU box and then through eyelets on the opposite end portion of the base frame so the cable develops a vertical component of force for clamping the assembly to the LRU box.
  • Beehive Wind Shield

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20190166806, Jun 6, 2019
  • Filed:
    Dec 4, 2018
  • Appl. No.:
    16/209074
  • Inventors:

Kenneth H. Raihala - Superior WI, US
  • International Classification:
    A01K 47/06
  • Abstract:
A wind shield supported by a beehive bottom board prevents directly impinging wind from creating high-pressure differences across the beehive such as promote excessive ventilation. By providing an entry path that opens upward and follows a twisted path, proper ventilation and access to the beehive by the bees may be maintained. The wind shield may be quickly installed on a variety of beehive designs and easily removed during warm weather.
