Abstract:

A system and method for automatically providing a user with links to relevant reviews of restaurants in a given location by use of the Internet. The system generates a webpage arranged to receive inquiries from a user and utilizes an algorithm to automatically generate a search string of specialized criteria upon receipt of minimal input information from the user in the form of only the name and approximate location of the particular restaurant for which reviews are desired. The search string is automatically provided to a comprehensive search engine on the Internet, which conducts the search and returns the results for automatic display on the webpage.

Abstract:

A laminate to extend the life of photographs and prevent them from gradual deterioration due to environmental conditions comprises a laminate made of a transparent film of ultraviolet-stabilized polyethylene terephthalate or ultraviolet-stabilized acrylonitrile and a transparent silicone or acrylic adhesive bonded to the film, the laminate being adapted to be bonded to the image surface of a photograph by the adhesive. Alternatively, to provide even greater protection against moisture vapor and oxidation, an additional layer of a transparent fluorocarbon polymer may be bonded to the ultraviolet-stabilized polyethylene terephthalate or ultraviolet-stabilized acrylonitrile with a silicone or acrylic adhesive. Alternately, to provide a better aesthetic appearance by means of thermal texturization, an ultraviolet-absorbing polymethylmethacrylate film may be bonded to the ultraviolet-stabilized polyethylene terephthalate or ultraviolet-stabilized acrylonitrile with a silicone or acrylic adhesive. Any of these combinations is effective to protect photographs over a long period of time from elements which cause fading and degradation, such as ultraviolet radiation, cycling relative humidity, atmospheric pollution and oxidation.

Abstract:

A system and method of use to help a person to stop or modify an adverse habitual health-related behavior, e. g. , smoking, weight control, stress management, etc. , by following a calculated regimen to commence on a day to be selected by the person. The system comprises a computer and a series of customized visually perceptible messages establishing a customized regimen to aid the person to stop or modify the adverse habitual health-related behavior. The computer is arranged to receive personal information about the person and which is relevant to the behavior and makes use of expert system software to provide the customized messages in response thereto. The customized messages are in the form of a daily sequence measured relative to day selected by the person for the regimen to begin. Each of the messages is arranged to be read by the person in sequence on a daily basis and includes respective numerical indicia representing the number of days from the selected day to the day of said message.
