The present invention is directed to a method of cleaning an interior surface of a fluid delivery system. The method comprises introducing a first liquid into the fluid delivery system and contacting the interior surface with the first liquid; forming a slurry by introducing a particulate into the first liquid and contacting the interior surface with the slurry; introducing a second liquid into the fluid delivery system and contacting the interior surface with the second liquid; and introducing a third liquid into the fluid delivery system and contacting the interior surface with the third liquid. The first liquid is substantially soluble or substantially insoluble in the second liquid, the second liquid is substantially insoluble in the third liquid, and the particulate is substantially insoluble in the first and second liquids and substantially soluble in the third liquid.
Concentrate Composition And Process For Removing Coatings From Surfaces Such As Paint Application Equipment
Jonathan Warren - Dearborn MI, US Phillip Beauchamp - Roseville MI, US
International Classification:
C11D001/00
US Classification:
510/201000
Abstract:
A concentrate composition for removing coatings from surfaces such as paint application equipment is provided, which comprises: (a) 0 to 99.5 percent by weight of acetone, methyl acetate and/or water; (b) 0.01 to 35 percent by weight of at least one surfactant selected from pyrrolidone-derived surfactants having substituents containing 6 to 14 carbon atoms and alkoxylated acetylenic compounds; and (c) 0.5 to 90 percent by weight of at least one pH adjusting component selected from ammonia and amines having alkanyl groups, hydroxyalkanyl groups, or aminoalkanyl groups having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. The volatile organic compound (VOC) content of the composition is less than 2.0 lb./gal. Also provided is a process for removing coatings from surfaces comprising diluting the concentrate composition described above with water to form a cleaning solution; and contacting the surfaces with the cleaning solution until coating residues are substantially removed from the surfaces.

US Classification:

Abstract:
A method of cleaning interior surfaces of fluid delivery systems including (a) passing through the system an abrasive cleaner composition including at least one liquid carrier containing solubilizable abrasive particles, at least some of which are in non-solubilized form, effective to abrade the material to be removed from the interior surfaces, and (b) rinsing the system with at least one fluid effective to (i) displace the carrier and (ii) remove the abrasive particles, at least partially by such chemical means as dissolution or decomposition or neutralization. Optionally, the method can include a first step of contacting the inside surfaces of the fluid delivery system with a pretreatment fluid capable of softening or loosening the material that is to be cleaned from the internal surfaces of the delivery system for a time sufficient to soften or loosen unwanted material. A cleaning kit including the abrasive cleaner and rinsing fluid is also provided.
Temporary Water-Washable Coating For Spray Booths And Vehicles During Assembly
Jonathan N. Warren - Dearborn MI Finn Bergishagen - West Bloomfield MI
Assignee:
PPG Industries Ohio, Inc. - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
C08L 6700
US Classification:
524513
Abstract:
A waterborne barrier coating composition is provided for protecting interior wall, window and adjacent floor surfaces of paint spray booths from the adherence of unwanted paint overspray. The composition can also be used to protect decorative finishes from damage during assembly processes. The coating composition is applied via brush or spray methods as a mixture of water solubilized styrene/acrylic or acrylic acid polymer, alkali-swellable Acrylate/Steareth-20 Itaconate acid copolymer or alkali-swellable Acrylate/Ceteth-20 Itaconate acid copolymer, and water. No surfactant or polyol is required to form a suitable coating. The composition provides a fast drying transparent or pigmented hard coating that is easily removed by cold water.

About:
Buying and selling real estate is tremendously exciting, but at times, can be daunting. I am all too familiar with the joys and challenges of moving because I have experienced these emotions myself many times. I purchased my first property when I was only twenty-three years old. I am happy to say that in that moment, and many more to follow, I realized that the thrill of finding the right home in a new community made all the difference. I have personally lived in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill as well as several other cities across the state of North Carolina. While serving in the military, I also lived in several other states and countries. Despite fond memories of those days, I am happy to be back in the Tarheel state--It is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. Whatever your needs, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and to assist with the transition. I know what is involved in being a buyer and a seller, tenant and landlord. I have purchased improved property and vacant lots. I have originated financing for new construction as well as existing homes using both conventional and government backed loans. One size does not fit all. I look forward to learning about your circumstances and finding the right solution for you. Please call me today at (919) 960-8935 or (800) 752-5006.
